You should try big spin/tour hex combo Big spin mains.Been playing with Tour Hex for a while now and bout to cut it out since I'm not getting enough depth on a lot of my shots now.
- Tension(s) used for playtest: 53lbs
- Regular string set up: Red Devil poly in mains at 53 and multifilament in the crosses at 55
- Control/Power/Spin: As others have said the control is the greatest attribute. I feel like I can aim where I want to go and hit my shots most of the time. Where were many instances where my opponents left me the alley and I beat them there multiple times. As for spin, several times where it looks like the ball was sailing only to have it dropped inside the baseline. I would not consider this a powerful string. I can take a full swing and rely on the ball staying in and the return game I feel like I can control the shots without it flying to the fence.
- Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp? Comfortable?): it's not a stiff string by any stretch but I wouldn't say it's a soft string either. It's comfortable enough that I haven't experience any wrist or arm issues like some polys on the market.
- Playability Duration (did the string lose playability over time?): Yes, tension loss is noticeable. I feel like I have to whack the ball a little more than some other strings. I love the control aspect of the string and would love a little more pop.
- Additional thoughts? I love the baby blue color on my 2021 Yonex Vcore. I would like to see more options to see if I like a thinner or thicker gauge.

Thats not the combo i suggested yonex strings arent the best. They work mostly in yonex onlySo been hitting with Poly Tour Air in the mains and Mayami in the crosses. Can't get it to dial in yet because everything was flying to the fence. I will say it looks pretty durable because I can see it's gripping the ball pretty good. There hasn't been any fraying yet.

to be honest i don't remember and its maybe very individual depending on destination and covid numbers in the country but overall i would say between 7-14 days to europe. How long does it take for the string-reels to travel in Europe from Murica???
I ordered a pack of Hit Pro and it was shipped on 9/6 and still hasn’t even arrived in the USA yetHow long does it take for the string-reels to travel in Europe from Murica???
Good to know!I ordered a pack of Hit Pro and it was shipped on 9/6 and still hasn’t even arrived in the USA yet
I was worried about the custom fees too in Europe… so far i was lucky without additional payments but i heard EU changed some rules. Thanks for the head up what_army, i thought before that mayami .de was official distributor or direct EU-based sub-company.
Shipping from Ukraine = extra customs charges, for Greece for sure and for most EU countries I suppose.
And huge time delay in delivery, here in Greece there have been new customs procedures introduced recently and packages outside EU may take 1 month just waiting there until sorted out.
The only shop shipping from Germany that I found out is tennisman
But quite higher prices and extra cost for postage in any case (not free above some amount like other big tennis shops which have free postage for orders above 100 or 120 or 150 euro).
E.g. Mayami Hit Pro costs 94 euro in tennisman while it costs 60 euro in mayami .de...
If someone else has other suggestions for EU order (shipment from inside EU), let us know please.
For Greece, it is worse than that, if I knew what I would pay, I could consider, but except the huge customs delay, nobody can tell you how much extra you have to pay, thus totally pointless....Nobody wants to pay taxes hah
Ye. Custom fees are party killers. I will let you know how it went with me. (2 reels, 1x pro overgrip Pack) there are some ways to lower the custom fee but i heard the law in EU changed a lot and in a bad way. World is ending in EU. We should all move to US no problems there with mayami. I hope they will figure out the EU issue. I prefer tour hex over cyclone and that means a lot hah!For Greece, it is worse than that, if I knew what I would pay, I could consider, but except the huge customs delay, nobody can tell you how much extra you have to pay, thus totally pointless.
For example, for a reel of 100 euro value, it may be, +15 euro for the check procedure, +24 euro for VAT, +whatever they decide for import duties.
I’m not sure if someone had this before, but stringing Big Spin at 25Kg just made a dent on my Pure Aero grommets.
Could be just plain unlucky, but be aware.
I think Mosquito bite is an underrated string. I used its my cross string for many years and I really liked it. I think I will try that combo in an older racquet I have laying around. Just for the fun of hitting with it again and using the MB in the crosses.Ran across a pleasant surprise last week. I used Tour Hex in 18x20 and came out impressed.
I have an old Donnay 18x20. It does not generate enough spin and therefore I use it only for practice -- it is soft of the arm, and excellent for that purpose. I never use it in match, as spin was just too weak / non-existent. Even "prime" polys (Lux) did not elicit spin from it, so its fate was sealed.
Last week, I put in Tour Hex 1.23 / WC Mosquito Bite 1.16 @ 47/45. Suddenly, the racquet got spin, Lots of it. Suddenly, I can play my regular game with it. The racquet got the "grab" which I only get from the 16x19 configurations. Plus the control is superior due to dense pattern. Plus softness due to the racquet itself and Tour Hex is not stiff. Plus power due to Mosquito Bite I suspect. I started using it in matches and had great success with it. It equals my better 16x19 racquets now.
So, Tour Hex definitely introduced some "bite" into the stringbed. Combined with Mosquito Bite, it definitely is more powerful than by itself. Feel remained soft/forgiving as before. Highly recommend this configuration.
Tour Hex for sureWhats the most comparable to full bed poly like hyper g or luxilon alu power?
Good afternoon, thank you all for your interest in our tennis strings Mayami and for your feedback. Next week we will make a presentation of our strings in this forum in the thread.
Tour Hex and Luxilon Alu Power are very-very different. I see no similarities between them.
Luxilon is very firm feeling. Lots of power. Immediate response. Very sensitive to angles.
Tour Hex is very dampened, almost mushy. Very muted. Very low power. Delayed response. Strong Pocketing. Completely insensitive to angles. Grabbier/spinnier than Alu Power.
These strings cannot be further apart.
Yes. Lynx tour and tour hex are very similar in 1.23 vs 1.25 gauges. Hit pro shares some characteristics of original and Alu power and at the same time doesnt want to copy anything. Its their own version of round string. You might like it or not.Well that may be true, but Mayami doesn't really have a direct competitor string to Alu Power. You could say Hit Pro, but I found that plays more closer to 4G soft then Alu power. The poster also mentioned Hyper G and I would say Tour Hex has some of the characteristics of HG, not all of them but closer for sure. Your description of Tour Hex is dead on though and it is their version of a tour level control string, I would say like Lynx Tour.
I like them too. I put them on the same level as Wilson and Yonex. Waiting for their tacky version of it like tourna mega tac.I like Mayami overgrips, too. Plenty tacky for me. I still have a bunch of Head and Tier One yet to go through, but my re-up next spring will be Mayami.
The blue one the Mayami tour hex I've played at 52 pounds on a head speed mpHi everyone,
I see Mayami strings are gaining popularity but nobody talk about them on this forum.
Anybody had the chance to try one of their strings ? What is your feedback ?
Apparently some of them play like alu power but with better tension maintenance...
Thank you
Cheers

I like using Ghost WireBetter round poly cross with big spin main hybrid?
please try big spin/tour hex combo ! BUT ALSO waiting for your big spin / polaris review. I've been watching Polaris for a while nowI like Big Spin fullbed a lot. Nevertheless, I also tried some hybrid combos with Big Spin mains. Big Spin + Ghostwire worked well. Big Spin + Hit Pro was great (quite powerful!), it was so easy to get a good length!! But after 5 hours it became a bit too soft, defending was still easy, but hitting winners became more difficult. If this wasn't the case, I would immediately switch to this combo (perhaps I should try it once again...)
Two weeks ago, I tried Big Spin + Gamma iO (blue). This combo delivered less power, but a bit more control and especially precision and directional control than Big Spin fullbed. When I was in a good shape, I hit more winners than ever before. On the other side, when my muscles were tired (having played three days in a row), I struggled a bit to get enough length in my strokes. But this was also due to the cold temperatures (~6-8 degrees Celsius). I guess this would be a very good setup for the summer season, especially for those who like to play aggressively and dominate the rallyes.
Currently, I have Big Spin + Signum Pro Polaris 1,25 on one of my rackets. I am going to play with it this afternoon...

Babolat Pure Aero 2016, 23/23 kg (51/51 lbs.)Thank you. What racquet and tension you used with Hit Pro?
On clay?Babolat Pure Aero 2016, 23/23 kg (51/51 lbs.)
Tour Hex is not round, but has 6 edges, that's why I fear that this combo will only last a few hours. I once tried Big Spin + Signum Pro X-Perience (also 6-sided) and the mains already snapped after 4,5 hours. Some weeks ago, I tried Big Spin + Grapplesnake Alpha (5-sided) and the mains broke after 3 hours. Big Spin + round cross string normally lasts 9-10 hours.please try big spin/tour hex combo ! YesOn clay?
You said you like full bed of BS. What are you looking for in a hybrid with it? I didn't like the control of the full bed and felt too soft to me (23/22 on PAVS 2020)Big Spin + Polaris felt good today: Good spin, good control, enough power. Nothing outstanding, but quite solid. But of course, these are only the first impressions...
Fear not, I use Big Spin mains with TH crosses and BS always breaks first. In fact I have a setup where I only restring the mains while keeping TH crosses just because they outlast BS so predictably (1 cross per 3 mains broken).Tour Hex is not round, but has 6 edges, that's why I fear that this combo will only last a few hours.
