i know there might not be alot of replies but any one playing in the2007 mayor's cup in new york?
I've heard of it many time, but what is it exactly?
yeah its a competition for all kids who are in schools in the new york area
the age groups are middle school singles, middle school doubles, varsity singles, and varsity doubles
you can only play one event and it works out like any other usta tournament how ever sometimes your at a disadvantage because the age groups are so wide apart i.e. the middle school tournament ranges from 6th-8th grade so you have a chance of playing a 14's or 12's player
also i know that there is a school event in which my school (and i played) lost to horace mann in the finals
What school do you go to, and can anyone enter?
well i go to middle school 67 louis pasteur middle school
our best 3 singles are (and in order)
1. David Arroyave
3. Leighann Sahagun (top 20 in girls 14's)
these are my picks for the mayor's cup-the winners.predictions
1. Alexander Petrone
2. Richard Del nunzio
3. Andrew Adams
4. Jonathan Raude (i'm not sure if he's playing it....but if he is he'll win it easily)
For the individual event, usually the top 2 players of the school enters (for singles) and the top doubles team.
How do I join? Am I even eligible to join? I'll admit im not the best but i want to give it a shot. I play by myself, im not part of any high school team or usta program.
So any info on join would be appreciated.
Also, hows the competion level?
unfortunately the deadline passed for this years tournament but if you will still bei n middle school or high school next year u can enter
