Time on court may be a factor.
May the best man win.

(I hope you win, Rafa! It will be historic. But Ferru will have earned his victory for sure if he wins.)

Backing Nadal to make it title #7 in Monte Carlo tomorrow.

Ferrer's going to give him a tougher match than he did last year on the clay, that's for sure. Rafa needs to serve well and keep the pressure on Ferrer (who's great, mentally, but seems to give up breaks to Nadal when under constant pressure).

Nadal needs to come out blazing and not let Ferrer get the rhythm for the match. I think he knows this through-and-through, though, so it's just a matter of execution.

The Bull in 2 sets.

I know. Djoker has usually beaten Rafa on hc, so that's no big deal, but some of the exaggeration on this board is a bit over the top.

Recent topics on the board:

Murray should've won a match he lost 6-1 in the third.

Fed has dropped down to #3 in world, he should retire, even though he's still within spitting distance of Novak as far as the #2 ranking.

Rafa's on the way out since he lost a set in the first clay court tournament of 2011.

Raonic and Dolgopolov have been put on the back burner since only the most recent results matter around here.

Are you serious??? Why would a man enjoying what he does should retire? He's still winning most of his matches, still reaching solid results (MC was his first non-SF or above this year), and he's still the #3 in the world. Fed should NOT retire unless he feels he cannot or doesn't want to continue at a high level.

That is exactly what she was trying to say - "but some of the exaggeration on this board is a bit over the top"...

Watch Nadal's very first serve of the match. If he misses badly and it goes into the middle of the net, he'll struggle and will either win in 3 sets or lose to Ferrer. If he makes his first serve of the match, he'll play well and will win in 2 sets.

It seems his initial serve is a barometer of his confidence and playing level within each match.

That's my latest theory :-D

Ferrer to have his chances but Rafa to come through in 2 close sets. He claycourt tennis machine.

I'll be looking out for that :)

What a beautiful place, this Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (where this is really being played):

Midget fireball off to a good start. careful rafa he's won ths year you haven't yet. No room for second set slumps or any

The last time Nadal lost in MC, he was 16 years old and ranked 109 in the world :)

(according to the commentator)

Ferrer coming out like he did in Australia... uber-aggressive

Nadal breaks for 2-1

You misunderstood the post.

It was about over the top exaggerations and many on this board have suggested Fed should go out on a high note, ergo, retire.

This is not my position. Check my posting history. I agree with you and do not see #3 as a downward spiral. I think Fed is still playing good.

I would never call for anyone's retirement. That's not my call.

ugh, both are having their fair share of sub-par moments. Rafa's BH working well though. As for Daveed, that serve of his is killing him.
