McEnroe hit the nail on the head - let the youngsters play qualies (instead of giving them wildcards) and see what happens.

She might have been injured. Or maybe she couldn't handle the situation. It's hard to tell.

But either way, we've seen this situation countless times - rising star has a few high profile wins, maybe wins a tournament, gets praised and hyped up to be the next big thing, then loses and achieves very little in their career thereafter.

Emma is such a good learner. She had a terrible time of it on Center Court in that fourth rounder with the stupid scheduling and hype.
Comes back 8 weeks later and wins a slam at the greatest stadium on earth at the greatest tournament.
Just incredible stuff from an 18 year old.
She learns like that and picks herself up like that....we are in for something.

We're at the phase of "maybe wins a tournament". She's won the tournament, now success will get to her head, her game will be micro-analyzed by all the experts and coaches out there, and she will win very little from here on in. Mark my words.

Of course no one will congratulate me if I'm right. But this thread will get bumped if I'm wrong and my post quoted and made fun of (just how TTW is unfortunately).

Let's see whether Emma can reproduce her heroic feat in the biggest three stadiums.

I don't think she will flame out like so many other teen prodigies (eg. Austin, Seles, Hingis).
She is too athletic for this and also mentally very stable.
