For a while anything can work but in a long run you cant play without the right fuel.

He lost quite a bit of his
physical strength and with that his mental strength went down also. Both of his trademarks.

Now biggest problem with this is that Djokovic cant simply change his diet again and consume red meat or any kind of meat since he stated that he doesnt eat it , and he doesnt eat it since its not good for him or anyone else(even tho he is only player in top 500 that doesnt eat meat)
So he will not even look at his diet as his main problem coz then he would need
to admit that he made a big mistake to the whole world.
Instead he will look for solution in some gurus that cant even help weak people like his brother let alone champs like Novak.
Funny how such a big stars get caught in a small lie and falls because of such small thing.

How stupid are some people.

He's playing like ****, oh it has to be the meatless diet. You can't be good at something unless you're eating animals by the barrel load.

Engage brain. There's a million reasons for the sort of form he was in to drop. Oh but it has to be the vegetarian diet. Come on mate.

Why does it necessarily have to be the diet? That's one of the main things that helped him getting to the success that he's had.

The diet COULD be something related to his problems right now, but in my opinion it's way more likely that age is starting to catch up, his problems with his elbow and that he is struggling mentally with motivation right now.

Is he not eating meat or just red meat? There is a big difference between the two diets.

Apparently not since all top tennis players eat meat. There must be a good reason for that.

If Novak ate meat he would be outside the top 100. The fact that he's a vegetarian is what helped him achieve what he has including the non-calendar grand slam.

Most meat isn't good for you anyway and you can get everything you need from other things. It might be a bit harder and take a bit more research and everything else to find the right stuff to eat if you want to be absolutely perfect on it, but it's perfectly possible, and a multi-millionaire athlete would certainly have the resources to have people find that out for him.

But don't let that get in the way of a tabloid style piece of trash of a thread.

Yes, most people eat meat.

He stop eating meat this year.
He started glutamine free diet when he was number 2 in the world.
So you are very wrong.

Yes, most people eat meat.

So why multi millionare athletes still eat meat if there is better way.

Most people eat meat but if it were up to each one of us to kill, decapitate and clean all the blood of cows, chicken, pigs, etc. most people in today's world would be vegetarian. Most of us eat me because we go to the supermarket and we see a little prepared package and we buy it, but the reality is if we see a chicken with its baby chicks following it in a line we would think it's cute and would feel horrible to kill. That doesn't even take into account that protein from meat is not good for us but just like cigarets, alcohol, meat products also make billions of dollars so the governments will not stop. Djokovic should be applauded for his choice not criticized.

What if Djokovic started eating meat again.
What would you say then.

Every third child is being aborted by its mother , you really think they care about baby chicks or eggs more then their kid.
People are not so sensitive, if they kill their own kid animal is just nothing to them.

The debate about abortion is complex because it's not a child yet. Don't change the subject. Plenty of people care about animals and there's a trend of more people becoming vegetarians, but most people don't even think of that and would care if they actually made some research about health and see the behind the scenes of the animal genocide.

Of course it is a child .
But nevermind ....

First post of yours that I read which makes sense.

haha, use yer brains people (I see a surprising amount of people who seemingly genuinely think this is the reason for Novak's slump). It's more than a year since Novak made it official that he's eating pescetarian ("vegan with a little fish here and there" in his words). This was at the start of the run that would see him win four slams in a row, an unprecedented achievement in recent history. Where are the threads about how this diet change propelled him to that? Yes, it can take a little while before adverse effects build up from diet change, but no, if Novak was suffering some nutritional deficiency he wouldn't be out-of-this-world for a year and then suddenly lose it due to this. That's nonsensical.
And more pertinently, there's no reason why one of the richest and most perfectionistic athletes out there wouldn't be able to make sure he gets all his nutritional needs covered while not eating meat. It's fairly basic.

Sorry peeps, the most realistic reasons for Novak's slump are to be found elsewhere. Like for one the fact that no one is able to dominate more than so-and-so long anyways, and the fact that he's nearing 30, has suffered some lingering physical ails, has had a knock to his motivation after checking out some huge boxes for his career, and the list goes on.

Only highly evolved humans eat purely plant based diets, like ********. Sorry to tell you that, mate.

Actually nutrients that come from meat stay in the body for very long period of time.Eating meat few times a year is way more then not eating at all.
So his not eating meat started catching up to him in us open .And with the time its just getting worse.

So if Djokovic turned back to carnivore and he started winning again would that upset you.

Being vegetarian or eating meat would have no effect on results like that because Djokovic is young, fit, trains hard, etc. So unless he eats McDonald's or fast food every day and overdoes it on purpose, he would be fine. He did well when he was vegetarian and he did well when he was eating meat. In fact one can argue that after the slump between 2012-2014 it's his recent vegetarian choice over a year ago that made him all of a sudden get a huge 2015 & 2016. His current decline in the past few months has more to do with his age as tennis history has showed us for 90% of past champions, as well as perhaps having less motivation after the FO and as he calls it "personal problems". But eating meat & animal products can affect you later on when you need 10 pills per day, might get cancer, diabetes and tons of health problems.

But if Djokovic started to eat meat all of that wouldnt make sense any more.
He tried it, gave it his best shot and not eating meat didnt work the same let alone better.
Would that upset you.

Really doubt its the meatless diet. I just suspect his guru buddy has him fasting to help clean out evil spirits in himo_O

Funny thing is if it was really the meatless diet. And i think it is .
He cant change it now can he , without looking stupid.

I think that's a great idea, Novak needs some exorcism, hue hue.

If Pepe doesn't manage it, the Muzziah will do it next time they meet:D

Ok you're just wasting my time. Read my previous post. It DID work as he won the historic 4 slams in a row when he was vegetarian and working on his vegan restaurant project. Right now he's struggling with personal problems, let down after the FO, some injuries, the fact that he's reaching 30, etc.

Did you know that Serena Williams is VEGAN? She's the GOAT and dominated for years and years. Stop with your nonsense.

As i said if you dont eat meat you will not feel it in quite some time but it will catch up.Sooner on pro athlete.
And i asked about your feelings.Would Djokovic returning to meat diet upset you.

Is there a Williams-family signature dish?
Serena Williams: That's easy: My mom's chicken, with rice and gravy. It was my favorite dish as a kid, and it still is now.

Keep filling your radiator with water you ignorant *******. Your car will be fine for a few dozen miles but eventually it's going to come to a sputtering halt.

Serena follows a strict vegan diet during the tennis season. It's documented and she said it plenty of times. If on Christmas she eats chicken with her family, it has nothing to do with anything. If you want to continue to believe that athletes need meat to perform despite the fact that Serena and Djokovic who have been vegetarians/vegan have dominated tennis, then go ahead and continue being in denial and stubborn.

I was just competing in Australia, and she was going to make it for me, but she forgot. Now she owes me! It's a family favorite.

Any serbian on forum.
Lets hear what the they think.

I think some meat and traditional Serbian food will do good to Djokovic, from time to time...now he obviously is lacking it and losing weight and strength

Djokovic is engaged in one of the physically most demanding sports, and his diet is like the one of the hesychasts ( ceaselessly praying Orthodox monks who do little physical activity). I hope he gets back to his senses, returns to normal diet and Orthodox Christianity and forgets all about yoga, gurus and this new age stuff.

If Serena was a real vegan, could she be overweight as she is? I don't think so, there is no fat in such a diet. But I am not an expert .

Humans are of course omnivores by nature.

Funny as if he doesn't know about his strength. He got a ton of options in front of him (meat is one of that but not the only one)
