mechanical looking forehand good or bad?

I taught myself how to play tennis, basically looking online and just practicing with friends that didn't really know how to play either. Now four years from now I am questioning my own forehand and the double bend. I use a semi-western forehand, I didn't learn about the double bend recently but I realized it naturally happens when I go for my forehand. However, the double bend is not always there when I hit more forehand. Recently a friend told me to keep the double bend throughout the swing even through the follow through. When I try this my forehand becomes very mechanical and stiff, before it was more of whipping motion. It is true that is more consistent with the mechanical stiff swing, but my natural forehand has a lot more power and spin. Sadly it also gets into bad humps where the balls can go long for days. Can I get some advice on what I should do, and what steps I can take to improve upon it?

Thanks

I think that a natural swing is very important. However, its hard for people to be natural often when trying things for the first time. They eventually become more natural. I dont know what you are referring to with the double bend, but i am very good at teaching/technique etc. so if yo uexplain this maybe i can help you out.
