the weird part is, tsitsipas seems like the kind of guy who would get into another player's head (his fist pumps, come ons, somewhat arrogant flair, etc.) but i can't see anything obvious about Meds that would cause this kind of meltdown in crucial moments

Well, Med does have a more unconventional game.

Medvedev can beat Tsitsipas. Stefanos has 0:3 H2H with him, bad matchup. But yes, it's a difficult draw for Djoker.

If I'm not mistaken, Medvedev has 2 career match wins on clay

Bullsheet Russian is useless on Clay even Tomic can beat him im not joking


He is almost at the same lvl as Pospisil and that is not a compliment the spoiler says why

Med may not win, but I think he will make it a physical match against Djoker at least.

Med + Thiem would still be a tough combo for Novak on this surface before the final. Especially if he plays like in the Kohlschreiber match.

Tsitsipas will probably score his first h2h win on grass where his forecourt game has more use and his serve, which imo is still better than med serve, will hold better. But then Medvedev flat shots also work well on grass.

This was a great, great match especially the way Tsits responded, but in the end he was hoisted by his own petard. This new Medvedev is just too brutally consistent from the ground, one upping one of Tsit's strong suits.

Is Djokovic going to be able to hit past Medvedev on clay? This could be more brutal than their Auz Open match.

I'm pretty surprised tbh, thought Tsitsipas would be able to turn around the h2h on clay. Theoretically Medvedev should be an easier QF match-up for Djokovic than Tsitsipas on clay, but who knows at this point.
