Medvedev could reach RG finals

He’s looking good and has a match up advantage over tsitsipas and zverev isn’t strong enough mentally to win against him in the semis.

Tsitsipas will beat him on Sand. In 4 maybe in straights
Tsitsipas is in better form this clay season, but it's a really bad match-up for him and Medvedev has the mental edge. The H2H is 6-1 in favor of Medvedev and Med won their only clay court encounter. If I had to guess, it's going to 5 sets and could go either way. Slight edge to Stefanos based on how they're playing imo

I don't think he is gonna pass Tsitsi. Tsitsipas is unreal right now and the conditions are in his favour. He is improving every day that is going by. I doubt this match will even be that close. Maybe a close 4 set affair at best, but the victory will never be in doubt.

I’m not sure to be honest. Tsitsipas in great form and he loves clay but he has a mental block against meddy. The mental side is big part of the game. Plus Tsitsipas is still suspect under pressure.

I agree he’s the better suited to clay but mad lad clay level is pretty high right now. I feel it will be close and depends who can win the big points. I see a 5 setter.

Nadal has a 3-1 lead over Medvedev........and all their meetings were on haredcourt.
Nadal beat Medvedev at 2019 London........and very nearly beat Medvedev at 2020 London........so I don't give Medvedev a chance of beating Nadal at Roland Garros....

I agree the mental side is a factor but it's not enough IMO. I believe Tsitsipas will overcome that thanks to his form and game right now. Lets see what happens, I predict a 4 set win for the greek. If he loses again, it would be a major disappointment. If there is any time to beat his rival and turn this rivalry around, it is now.

I agree Tsitsipas has to win this. He’s supposed to be the superior clay player. He did well last RG 2020 getting to semi and this is a chance to go a step further.

I agree he’s the slight favourite but he needs to handle that pressure. I feel meddy will relish the underdog role. Less pressure on him I feel but of course no1 position is on the line here do that could add pressure for the Russian too

Medvedev utterly owns Tsitsipas - regardless of surface. He is superior in every domain of the game. This will be a quick 3 set win for the Russian.

Nadl won't be there to play either of them.

This is the one place I'd be inclined to give Tsitsipas the advantage against him. If he still beats him when Stefanos has basically been the (at worst) second best player of the clay season so far then he really is The Truth.

Nadal is playing even better this year than he was last year....
Can you elaborate please? From what I have seen he is making tons and tons of UE. Yesterday he made 29 UE to 35 Winners. 29 UE is a bit too much. Also he has already played a tiebreak. I want to believe Nadal is playing better but I am not able to see it.

So he was barely winning any matches during the clay season and now he is suddenly GOATing? More proof that this is red hardcourt and not clay.

I said finals, not the title!! No one is saying he’ll beat nadal

Do you think the final will be a repeat of Australia?
I think Djok will play a tough match with Nadl but will win in 4 while with Tsits in the final he will have much more frustrations. I wish it's Med vs Djok in the final though.

When I say it will be a more frustrating match with Tsits it has all to do with Djok's mentality and less with Tsits and his level.

That is the truth, Med is at home.
Jim Courier said that Med getting COVID and recovering from it impacted his early clay results. Also since the footing, sliding, and ball bounce are so different between a hard court and a clay court the talk of RG being a red hard court doesn’t seem right to me.

Nadal almost lost to Med in 2019 in London
and Med defeated Nadal in 2020 in London

Tsitsipas has a better forehand, better touch at the net, better movement on clay, mentally stronger (IMO).

Medvedev absolutely has a chance of course, he is the number two seed for a reason after all.
Granted I feel Tsitsipas' opponents have been better overall so far in this slam and this may have prepared him better for the matchup.
If the weather is hot and without much humidity I feel like Medvedev will have some problems against Tsitsipas.

If Medvedev reaches the finals, it will be a no contest v Nadal. He won't even beat Djokovic is he makes it. If anyone wants a good RG final, they should be hoping for a Tsitsipas win and him reaching the finals. Only Tsitsipas has the ability to challenge Nadal in RG. Even Zverev has no chance
