Thought it would be a good comparison because of the equal number of big titles, slams and that they are all on HC.

Roddick will always be superior to Medvedev because Medvedev is a 1 trick pony who is only good on HCs.

Roddick was good on HCs and Grass.

Medvedev still has time on grass if he's allowed to play. Med has already bested Roddick's best result at RG.

Medvedev is 27, that was Roddick's age in 2009 and Roddick was stopped by Federer from winning wimbledon 4 times (03, 04, 05, 09). Plus Roddick is a 4 times Queens winners like Murray (5) and Hewitt. So no, Med has no chance of doing anything remotely close to what Roddick did on grass.

Medvedev and Roddick are equals on HCs, infact Roddick has achieved more even on HCs as on today but one can call them equals when it is all said and done.

So Grass is the difference here, Roddick is a tier above Medvedev because of mastery of 2 surfaces vs 1

Clay is irrelevant, they are both irrelevant players on it.

Can anyone see Rod beating Djokovic, Nadal, Thiem and Zverev in one tournament? lol. Med is a much better player than Rod. Period.

Oh wait maybe 2007 USO Roddick could..
Roddick beat Nadal, Djokovic, Ferrero (all in straight sets) and Lopez en route to his Dubai 2008 title on a super fast court. Not very different from Med’s run. I would argue it’s even better. Med is an overrated pusher with a good serve and good movement.

Peak Roddick on grass and fast HC is one of the greatest players in history. That’s all that matters.
From your response, you don't seem to have much confidence that Roddick faced stronger competition. I don't have much confidence in "peak levels" when results and stats are on the table.

What matters is

AO - 7-3 Roddick
RG - 7-3 Med
Wim - 9-1 Roddick
USO - 6-4 Roddick
YEC - 6-4 Med

The less said about Med's reign at number 1 the better.

2010 brings 2008-2013 down like a fat kid on a see-saw. ;)
2013 > 2010
2011 > 2014
2012 > 2015
2013 > 2016

For your pleasure if we said say 2011-2012 was a bit over 2008-2009 even though the opposite isn't a unreasonable position either so even in that case it still leaves 2008-2013 a bit stronger and way stronger best case

Most people also consider 2016 as worse than 2010. Even the people who think 2010 was a mug era. 2013 was part of both anyway.

OP seems kind of desperate to convince others he is right. Someone made a really good post on the hardcourt and grass aspect but OP completely ignored it rather than acknowledging and admitting he was wrong on that one.
OP's vendetta against Fed is well known now. Wish people would let these transparent thinly veiled stabs at Fed just quietly die instead of giving them legitimacy by responding.

Med is good on one type of HC though, not all.
I don't think is a particularly fair critique. It's not like Roddick didn't also prefer fast HCs. Plus Med is the better indoor player so if anything the range of HCs he excels on is more diverse.

Roddick was kinda weak indoors for his standards but he didn't really mind whether the courts were slow or fast in the way Medvedev does. He had a lot of success in Miami for example and I wager Medvedev would be pretty ineffective on mid 00's RA.
