Earned him a Rafa Nadal Academy lifetime achievement award.2021 us open final i think
I AGREE!2021 us open final i think
The match where his backhand was most compact. What is it?
Yeah I don't think Alcaraz played that badly either. Kind of came out of nowhere.Versus Alcaraz, US Open 2023 semi-final
I was pretty pissed off we got denied a blockbuster rematch because Meddy just decided to turn it up to 10 out of no whereYeah I don't think Alcaraz played that badly either. Kind of came out of nowhere.
Yeah I think overall I'd put that above the 2021 US Open final. Carlitos put up way more resistance than Novak and Medvedev met the challenge. The 21 final was one of those situations where, sure, maybe Medvedev could have played out of his mind from the baseline, but he just didn't have to. He served phenomenally and was very solid from the baseline – better than a merely average Medvedev but nothing all that mindblowing. Against Alcaraz he really was mindblowing from the baseline. And on the return – I've never, not once, seen him return so well against the S&V play. Only area where the 21 final was clearly superior was the serve.USO against Carlos was a helluva performance I thought.
And decided to revert to normal in the finalI was pretty pissed off we got denied a blockbuster rematch because Meddy just decided to turn it up to 10 out of no where
I was screaming at my TV for this guy to get it together. Every single time in any big moment: Daniil is 5 meters behind the baseline, Novak goes slice deuce wide, comes to the net, just picks off volley after volley going behind Med when he needs to. Rinse and repeat. Was baffled at how Med just had zero responsivenessAnd decided to revert to normal in the final
Easily among the most disappointing matches I've seen recentlyI was screaming at my TV for this guy to get it together. Every single time I’m any big moment: Daniil is 5 meters behind the baseline, Novak goes slice deuce wide, comes to the net, just picks off volley after volley going behind Med when he needs to. Rinse and repeat. Was baffled at how Med just had zero responsiveness
