how do you guys meet people from your tennis club to play with. i have friends that i play with on public courts but they are not members of the club i belong to, so whenever we play at the club i have to pay a guest fee. is there a way where you can meet tennis players that are members of the club so you can play with them, becasue i have been a member of my club for about a year now and dont even know the other members.

Get a court at the club for yourself and practice serves. Hit good serves, somebody will chat you up and ask you to hit.

That's what I did, except at public courts. I was hitting a couple of serves when I saw a guy waiting for a court. He started to watch me. I hit a couple of really good serves. He saw that I was an accomplished player, so he asked if he could hit with me.

Many clubs have challenge ladder and you could get yourself on one of those and you will meet a new person each time. Also speak with the pro; he/she should be able to match you up appropriately, attend any mixers the club has, maybe sign up for a clinic with a group at your skill level, etc

Get involved. Show up for the "Stroke of the Day" or the weekly clinics. Join a league or a ladder. Post a note on the bulletin board. Attend the socials and mixers (even if they seem lame).

And, at the beginning anyway, be on your best behavior. Be generous with your line calls, and be a gracious winner or loser.
