Men's Tennis Shoes with Wider Forefoot

Hi TW,

I'm looking for shoes that have wider forefoot. I'm currrently using the Prince T22 and it's perfect for my forefoot as it doesn't squish my toes (one of my toes complains if squished too tightly). But the T22 feels heavy and stiff. I loved Asics before but they have narrow forefoot. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Do not replace the T22s! I just did for the first time in 3 years for some cool streamlined Adidas barricade whatever and now I'm in hell. Literally had a limp from the pain until I walked for a few minutes slowly and walked the pain out. Focus on your backhand, your marriage, anything. Just leave the T22s alone. You did good.

LOL! Actually I have both the original T22 and the T22 Lite. The light is about an ounce lighter but the fit is a bit suspect. Whereas the T22 except for the fact that it's a bit heavy it's still a more comfortable shoe than the Lite. I dunno maybe I just got a bad pair of the Lite. This is my second Lite and the first one was quite comfy.

I have the same problem. Very wide forefoot, always trouble finding shoes for any occasion.

I once had the Asics Solution Speed 2 which fit me well. The successor Speed 3 were horrible as the toebox felt way narrower.
I tried Nike Vapor for a few weeks, but got blisters and encountered pain.
I finally ended up buying Adidas Ubersonic 2 last year. They fit me well, did you try them?

I would just go buy the adidas sole court boost shoes, these have the widest forefoot of any shoe I have worn. and other aspects of this shoe is incredible too

Asics Solution Speed FF are roomy enough for wide feet. Which is not something Asics are usually known for. It's one of their best.

What are some advantages and disadvantage of this shoe if you were comparing it to Court FF 2 shoes that just came out which also has roomy forefoot ?

Advantages: better ventilation. And lighter weight.
Disadvantage (minor): they make a strange noise when you run in them. Actually this may not be just a minor disadvantage, depends on how sensitive you are to noises. It's not a loud noise, but it does drive some people bonkers.

Curious, wonder if companies shape shoes for cosmetic reasons only? Without regard to accommodating a human foot? Only Prince seems to try to get it right

Not sure what to make of the Speed FF with reviews about the popping, clicking noise in the forefoot when moving. Could that be the reason why they did the FF2 in a hurry? But then no tongue for the FF2? Jeez, I couldn't put my foot in the last time I tried a Nike with no tongue. And I have a medium width foot. What's with all these no-tongues anyway?

Anyone have a comparison of forefoot width between the Adidas SoleCourt Boost and the New Balance Freshfoam Lav ?

I'm glad I stocked up on the Asics Resolution 5s. The new generations have gotten narrower in the forefoot and I can't play in them. Hopefully by the time I run out Asics will have released a model that goes wider as it (the Resolution) is a GREAT shoe.

Almost every K-Swiss I've tried has a wider forefoot. Right now I use a K-Swiss Bigshot Light 3 Carpet which enabled me to buy my real size. Almost every other brand forces me to buy at least one size larger to get comfortable. I see you're also looking for a rather light model. I can assure you that the K Swiss light-models do not just claim to be but they're really lighter compared to the regular models. By the way, at tennis-warehouse.com the Bigshot Light 3 is for sale right now at a very reasonable price. You even have six different color schemes to choose from. ;)

I have a wide forefoot and an avg to narrow heel. I currently play in the Nike Vapor X and they are a great fit, light and comfortable. I've also found Diadora's to have good room in the forefoot and in general to be really comfortable shoes but not as light as the Vapors.
