I was still a defender of the Lindor deal until very recently too. I thought people were jumping the gun way too early on him. I wanted to cut him some slack heading to a new team with all that pressure, plus switching leagues and having to adjust to all these new pitchers you've never seen.
But it's almost September now. And considering he already had a down year last year, it's starting to add up into full blown regression. 2019 was worse than his 2018. 2020 was worse than his 2019. And now 2021 was worse than his 2020. It was easy to wave away last year because a lot of guys had strange seasons in that 60 game sample during COVID. But he's had time now. He's batting .233 in this last month where they've dropped completely out of playoff position, which is only good in comparison to his overall season number of .224. And this dude has the audacity to try and get back at the fans while they're flailing in the standings???
