MIAMI 2011 - Sony Ericsson Open - Match Discussion Thread

Pablo Cuevas looks like a top 25 player. Has he always been this good? He is serving well and showing a good touch near the net, especially that drop shot in that 43 shot rally.

Boo hooo :( Berdych semi-clowning through the 2nd and 3rd sets, but pulled out some good enough stuff to eventually beat lovely Flo.

wow troicki's got 2 games in 1 set against novak  looks like novak's hitting the panic buttons, not....

Nadal's figured out dolgo already, that match is over

boring.........

Well, it looks really humid out there, Nole usually plays bad in these conditions but ok, it's not that bad.

It is generally very humid in FL around this time of year and through the summer especially. My parents are in FL right now and they said it is very humid. Must be lovely to play tennis in!

Djokovic forgot to go to the bakery for this match. How tournaments has Djokovic played Troicki in now this year?

Those plaids! My boys! My eyes! Augh!!

I never thought I'd see the day something -- anything -- would make my handsome boys look so terrible.

I don't know which is worse, Roger's "Farmer Brown" version or Rafa's "I am guapo and inteligente so the WRECKING BALL CLASH with my skin tone is no matter, no?" interpretation.

I must have terrible taste in fashion. :(

I have to say though, that there seems to be something strange about the guy next to rodge (not Tony godsick; it's mr. Quirky blue loafers that look weird). It looks like his legs are many times too small for his body, and his expression and general positioning suggest that he's not there for the basketball, if you catch my drift. ;)

By the way, that meant I think he might be attracted to Roger. In a homosexual manner. Just thought I'd throw that in.

Reto doesn't need Roger's resplendent tan in his life, he has Ester. http://www.sigl.ch/events/usa/2007/usopen/day2/esterretolynette01b.jpg

I've always seen those two at rogers matches; who exactly are they? Sorry if I'm sounding ignorant here - I've gotta GOAT up on my Federknowledge.
Reto Staubli - one of Fed's bezzie mates from his childhood tennis club (but he's now a Credit Suisse banker I think?), and Ester is Reto's wife. Reto used to travel a lot with Federer and offer a bit of tennis advice. Also, Fed and Mirka used to stay at their house during Wimbledon :)

NOMG. I cannot believe I didn't know who it was. Reto Staubli I've found out is rogers hitting partner on the road and a former Swiss top tenner. I'm going to drown myself in a bath of federer's perfume now. And his wife is naice too.
