MIAMI 2011 - Sony Ericsson Open - Match Discussion Thread

Dammit ... gonna miss delPotro twice already this week
also, Djoker ... wonder whether Kohli/Maclagan have
figured out how to beat Delpo yet?!

Unexplainable loss, considering how consistent he has been playing this year. Perhaps he was not 100%??, especially considering the first set bagel.

I wonder what he'll Tweet this time? I lost all my respect for Stan when he tweeted what he tweeted after his lost to Fed...

I think the loss is more due to the criticism everyone giving him with his matches against Federer. Breaking his US open and Aussie Open mojo!

Delpo just awful frontrunner, 4 2nd serves in row, so typical to him.His service games goes below par after he is break up, pretty discusting.

Yup, Delpo is serving badly again. Kohly won't make the same mistakes again. I should have put some decent money on Kohlschreiber when Delpo was up 3-0.

There is no mental consistency to Delpo but he usually is 10% better than his opponent, that aint much, matches full of drama.

Ok, Delpo lost the first set to Kohl. Not over yet, but he needs to play better if he wants to win the next two. Though right now it doesn't look likely.

I dont see Delpo winning the way he is serving and returning and especially choking early leads of sets past weeks.

That serve isn't helping him, I would think he would make it a top priority but sometimes it takes awhile to get it right.
Lets see what the second set looks like.......

I jumped the gun at 6-5 40-0.

Polito got it back to the tiebreak, but it didn't really matter because he couldn't finish the mini comeback.

Ah ... thx for the clarification! :)

JMDP's now up a break 3-1 in the second, but he's gotta be getting tired after having just one week off between Delray Beach and IW, then one week between IW and Miami, otherwise playing back-to-back tournaments since he set foot on American soil @ San Jose! :o

He said he was tired before the tournament started, he may have a rest break coming in about an hour or so. :(

Yeah, going to bed and stopping watching guy who cant hold break advantage both sets, discusting stuff.

good thing youre "stopping watching," especially since the match is not being broadcast anywhere! :o

wait a minute ... that explains it ... youre watching the match in your head!
