Mikeler's Multis

With all due respect, shouldn't you at least try it?

I know b5e is awesome with it, but surely you want to try it.

Haha, I see you have been following another thread...

Funny you mention that. I was just contacted about playtesting a new version of Thunder Blast that supposedly does not leave the black ball marks.

I'd like to but I need to wait for another restringing which probably won't happen until Sunday and I'll only be testing it as a cross.

no rush, i asked TennisDepot, they told me about the samples, and IF they'll be released it won't be until spring 2012, so..
they also told me not many people complain about the black marks, but that's another story.

I personally don't care about the black marks. They are not replacing the current string, just trying to improve on it. A 17g version may also be coming out.

Sounds good.

I'm surprised you didn't catch the allusion to airplane.

i just noticed that my Xcel turned "bad" after 10-12 hours..
many groundstrokes lost spin or blew out of court..
i sure hope it's not an excuse and mostly the string,
cause i just couldn't regain control of my game anymore.

i really don't want to turn into a "string blamer" and i feel i'm starting to :(

I cut Xcel out I believe at the 12 hour mark. It was barely intact and just the visual look of it was starting to bug me.

I just wanted to let everyone know, we are all counting on you.

my personal best:

- captain, how soon can you land?
- i can't tell.
- you can tell me i'm a doctor.
- no, i mean i'm just not sure.
- well, can't you take a guess?
- ... not for another 2 hours.
- you can't take a guess for another 2 hours?

and remind me what's your poly?

I have three (3) Pro Kennex 7Gs with Weiss Cannon Black 5 Edge mains at 52 pounds with Genesis Thunder Blast crosses at 56 pounds on a Gamma X-ST lockout machine. I may go down some in tension if it ever turns cold here.

I think you probably safe from the cold in florida.

I was reading your rip multi review and your said that the string caused a few fliers from the baseline but otherwise you liked it. lots of spin. well, I have to agree. I love rip but I tried it against 2 other multi's on the same day and noticed rip had a bad habit of launching the ball if you don't generate enough spin. I had tnt 2 in the other stick and didn't notice it launching the ball as much but hated the stiff feel of tnt2. imo, tnt 2 just lacked feel and power and seemed very mediocre. ( how do they get 10$ for this string?)

gonna try multifeel and quisi gut next. but waiting for the rip to snap.

Only snowed twice while playing this month, 37 degrees now.

Nope, it still can get cold here. We had sleet 2 years ago in January. It also depends where in the state you are. The northern portion can get much colder than the southern tip.

That was my big complaint with RIP. You HAVE to use all that massive spin potential otherwise the balls flies out. So anytime I went to flatten a shot, I just could not control the ball. TNT2 was way too stiff for me and just a very bland offering.

it was different. total focus.
+ Nadal is a wreck this time of year.
(sorry, didn't mean to start pro's discussion btw)

Yes, I noticed that as well. I kinda felt the same way about going to a tweener racquet (APDGT) from a traditional racquet (PS 6.1 95), but I'm used to it now. It's as if RIP is either going to bend perpendicular to the ball and snap back (for spin) or it's going to bend in the direction of the ball and snap back (for power).
