Milos Raonic is an example sportsman and a hardworking individual

I mean, they're bad return stats for sure, but 9% better is quite a lot better in tennis.
I forgot the exact stat, but I think you win the majority of your matches if you win something like 52% of the total points. So even 2-3% can make quite a big difference in tennis

Watching his Match against Kraijonovic I have to say this guy has an amazing FH and serve. I think his inside out FH is probably the best on the tour and for me his serve is not just brutal and effective but also a thing of beauty (I like this extreme supinated start of his wrist). But then on the other side, everything else he is doing mostly very mediocre to say at least. His BH can't do any harm at all and his decision making on the net is often very poor. His reaction at the net seems not even close to what is needed to be a top10 player and for me his biggest weakness is his footwork not to say his overall fitness. He looks in TV like a atheltic muscular hguy, but on some closer footage and pics you can see he just has some kilos too much to move easily and fast like the top guys. Actually his face looks a bit swollen up, not sure if this is just his genetics there but I guess ~5 kilos less would make him feel more comfortable moving on the courts.

It's not genetics. Draw a comparison between him when he was at his career high ranking and then now!

he's definitely got the weapons to take anybody out on a given day. needs to be 'in control' of the point though, if you can hang with him, get him moving, his game isn't nearly so imposing though. you saw what krajinovic did (although he lost), djokovic will give him that and a half, typically dismantles him without too much trouble. but for sure, firing on all cylinders he's a threat, can look unplayable for stretches when he's bombing serves and blasting that i/o fh. definitely has gotten 100% out of the cards he was dealt talent-wise, never thought he'd get as good as he has frankly. props.

Agreed. I would use him as a role model for juniors. I hope he wins big one day.

true. i remember when he first came on tour he beat verdasco who was none too pleased and basically dismissed him as a real player (verdasco being a jerk is a theme that comes up repeatedly btw.)

milos has maximized his potential in a big way, and is looking like he’s in the groove at the moment.
Frankly, years back I expected more from Roanic in the future. He did not live up to expectations to be honest. I thought he was up and coming but he kind of never reached the levels I expected he would.

True sportsmanship.

Find ONE other example of Raonic showing poor sportsmanship. Just one. ANY one. I hate how people focus on one extremely old incident like it defines them. He showed poor sportsmanship there yes but it was an important point and his sports mind took over which many players are prone to do, not that i am defending that incident but since then he has shown nothing but true respect and sportsmanship to his opponents. In fact that might be the only example of Raonic even doing something remotely unsportsmanlike, i think you would struggle to find a player who has less than him quite frankly.

He has the most punchable face on tour by a wide, wide margin. And the Raggedy Andy haircut just magnifies it x100

And anyone who saw the infamous photoshoot with the visible pubes probably wants to punch him in the balls too.
Yep, I was gonna write a very similar opening sentence but went with, “unlikeable” :)

OP, the word you should've used is the adjective 'exemplary', instead of the noun 'example'.

I agree with you. If Raonic moves better and is more injury-free, he'd be a latter-day Boris Becker, and be a contender at non-RG slams. How the tennis world hope for another Becker-type top tier player to emerge!

Did you guys see what happened yesterday to Opelka? He had to withdraw with knee problems while on serve in 1st set with Tsisipas. These concrete courts are just so hard on the big-bodied servebots. Isner and Raonic battle injuries throughout their careers, Opelka is following script!
