a pro is a pro no matter which way you look at it. its not like he has the game of a club player without the serve, one way or another, hes in the top 100 for a reason, and its not only his serve.

Evo wouldn't be ranked where he is right now but he's still be pretty good. He'd be top 150 in the ATP and a top challengers player.

I don't know if his groundstrokes is ugly or no, but the guy can beat everyone under 7.0. He can beat me, twistserve, kana, buffalo bills or raftermania and name all the people in the forum...

You dont know it but I'm actually Gasquet. And I beat up Ivo even with his tree climbing serve.

Any player in the top 100 is a solid 7.0 in my book. Where would Safin be minus his backhand, where would Henman be minus his volley, where would Nadal be minus his forehand?... I think you get my point.

I can't talk of Karlovic's game, but I hear he's got the serve and good enough volleys, but the rest of his game is crap. The players you gave as examples have other parts of their game that are not crap.

I saw karlovic at the US Open and he was horrible in all areas. Let me say that his serve is only effective on grass because of the skid factor. His performance, that I witnessed, was so weak and poor that I was shocked that he was on the ATP tour. I am not saying that to be unkind either. All the WTA players I saw while at the US Open hit harder, volleyed better and moved better. I can only wonder if he was severly ill that day, although he didn't retire from his match. I think it was very strange to see a guy play at such a low level on the pro tour. I know how this may sound but I felt that I could hit winners past him and I am not having delusions of ******ur. I know that even Nicole Pratt would beat me without even breaking a sweat but Ivo was pathetic!

well... the poll was a wash lol. a pro at 4.5? even 6.0 is redicules, he is definitly better than college players.

Not just in your book, but that's the way it is PERIOD. Any player in the top 300 is a legit 7.0 player, let alone top 100.

Tall guy's forehand is pretty wicked.

The guy's beaten Lleyton Hewitt twice already on grass. He must be doing something right. Obviously grass suits his game best probably. In addition to his skidding serve, he seems to have a real nice slice backhand that stays low on the grass.

I voted lower than 4.5. I am probably being cruel though. Still he is nothing without his serve, on the pro tour.

THATS y he has that serve... i mean, it would be asking, whats federer if he didnt have his footwork?? or andy roddick without his serve. if he is sooooooo bad after serve, how can he even win matches? a 4.5 cant win 1% of the pts in a regular rally with a pro.
