I've been playing with both the 2010 BLX six one 95 and the new one (with amplifeel) for the past three months. I, like many people who read TW specs of this model, tought the new one had a lower swingweight and was more maneuverable. And in fact, it does seem to be lighter when you hold it in your hand.
But those specs are misleading. When playing, I felt the 2012 model was heavier, had more plow through, was less headlight and was generally more sluggish than the previous BLX model.
But maybe it was just me. Or my racquet (we all heard about Wilson QC...) Then I decided to go on the TW university page to look up the specs they had on both racquets. And this is what I found:
Old Six-One 95 BLX (2010)
Weight : 345
Swingweight : 338
Balance : 8 pts headlight
New BLX Six-One 95 (Amplifeel 2012)
Weight : 350
Swingweight : 339
Balance : 6 pts headlight
For having played with both racquets, I can tell you these specs make much more sense than what you can read in the TW racquet description. You can check for yourself: http://twu.tennis-warehouse.com/cgi-bin/racquetspecs2.cgi##
I thought I'd post this because a lot of 6.1 lovers seem to be willing to buy the new one based on specs. I say demo the racquet first and hit for at least an hour or two...
