MLB 2025 Season

Incredible performance from Shohei with the 2 doubles and 2 dingers followed by 4 IBBs and another BB. And even Kershaw got in on the fun tonight.

I forgot that Scherzer and Glasnow even started this game. o_O

Not much fun in that game, bring your pillow and snooze.

Who could've foreseen this performance from the young rookie, Yesavage?

Completely knotted up the Dodgers offence and their feast or famine approach, striking them out for fun 7 innings deep.

Contact is king and nobody does it better than the Blue Jays.

They are piecing up the Dodgers in every department other than starting pitching, and even there they are going toe to toe. It's hard to keep their hitters down - just look at their BA across the post season top to bottom.

so Dodgers have about 50X the salary as the blue jays and they are about to lose the world series.. What is going on here ??

Bo has been hitting fine, him not playing SS is one of the best things possible for your club. But I wouldn’t expect you to understand that.

Yamamoto is an absolute trooper but I wonder how much he can really have left after last night. Almost just hit a second batter in 2 innings and his command isn't quite there.

Gotta be in the discussion as one of the all-time great series regardless of sport. Not that I know much about the NHL.

Scenes of Vladdy Jr. crying his eyes out. I feel for him... just a playmaking machine all playoffs long. Talisman of a player.

I was rooting for the Jays but congrats to the Dodgers. Haven't really followed a WS in 9 years (nor BB but was a big fan (1984-2004) but this will go down as a great classic. Jays made some great defensive plays early and Dodgers made great defensive plays late on. Pity, that it ended in a DP, but kudos to Yamamoto for getting the job done with no rest.

I always held it against Davey Johnson when he didn't start Dwight Gooden in Game 7 of the NLCS a guy who had a great record at Dodger Stadium (ERA was like 1.25), but instead Ron Darling got the start and got lit up.

Edit: Ok so checked AI and it says his ERA was 1.69 at Dodgers Stadium, and he had SO 10 in a non-decision in Game 1 of that 1988 series.

one of most epic games ive ever seen in mlb, it was a great and wonderful match, both teams were super close, and that moment with dodgers saving it in ninth when he managed to put his foot on the base and after that two dodgers guys collided, was something..

Might be the greatest world series I have ever seen -- especially game 7. Yamamoto coming getting it done in relief to get out of a bases loaded situation was incredible.

So many amazing plays by both teams on defense and offense.

all the Cleveland connections with this Toronto team makes even more sense now because this was a classic Cleveland loss

if you would have told me a few years ago that Ernie Clement would be an insane World Series and playoff hitting machine I'd never have believed you.....and shows Cleveland can't consistently develop hitters

It was nice to see defensive prowess of that calibre from both teams.
Dodgers deserved to lose, but Jays gave them a big present in the bottom of the ninth when the base runner did not take a customary lead from third base, it would have been an easy run scored.

On the other hand, someone has to make a mistake or there would be no winner.

Jays management and team are silent on this play. It is embarrassing to lose the World Series on a base running error.

That would make sense if there weren't 1st and 3rd base coaches standing right there.

It was possibly those coaches who shared in the responsibility for the base running error.

Anyway, there was so little and trivial difference between the two teams' performance that Jays fans can claim to have an equally accomplished team, so that is reason to feel good.

Here are analyses which agree with me that the lead on third base was way too small, ridiculously short. Also the slide at home plate cost the run, he should have run through the plate rather than slide.

There was no difference in quality of these teams and the Jays should have won. There was no winner, it was a gift from the Jays.

Will the Dodgers try to sign Munetaka Murakami?

How will his power translate to MLB?

The Dodgers have just stolen away the Jays batting coach, who did such a good job this past year.

The Jays should have won the World Series but for a minor base running error in the bottom of the ninth inning in Game Seven. Just taking a normal lead off third base would have given Jays the winning run.
