Dear Moderators is it possible to stop these endless Seles - Graf debates posted by persons only to mess things up.

As a Graf fan it is impossible to post something about her without being bombarded by posts which have been here for several years. The same goes for any true Seles fan. They also get bombarded by fanatics so called Graf fans.

The way it is now, it looks like you approve of it.

I have never seen a Graf fan starting a Seles stabbing discussion.
Do you?

I dont think this is even an issue beyond a few fans. As long as those posts are not racial/abusive/etc etc , moderators are not going to object.

Moderators should only get involved when discussion gets out of hand and devolves into flaming (although with Graf/Seles threads these seem inevitable). This is a discussion board, so whether something has been discussed a thousand times in the past is irrelevant if people are willing to discuss them again.

The point is, that it is ridiculous that on these boards, neither of those two players (without question, two legendary players in women's tennis) can be discussed without trolls appearing. It doesn't have to be a "Graf/Seles" thread, it can be any thread at all, that mentions either player.

I know little about the stabbing, I couldn't tell you what year it happened in, I certainly couldn't tell you slam totals of either player even, let alone who won what percentage of what slams before and after said incident, and I couldn't guesstimate to what degree Seles's career was affected.

I do know that sometimes, I'd like to discuss either player on these boards. The Graf FH, The Seles 2*2Hand domination, the Graf fitness, the time Seles beat Anke Huber in the AO final when I watched live. I would like to discuss these things without hearing about the freaking stabbing, and without seeing people cut and paste a gazillion stalker-like stats!

I would say you have to allow what unfolds within these threads as long as it is not out of control. Everyone has a right to an opinion. If you don't like what someone else writes if they bash your favorite player, take it with a grain of salt and move on. Whining to the moderators seems a little childish to me, but what do I know...

How about putting it in the TW questions/comments section instead of the player discussion section?

In general, I agree with the idea... We need moderators enforcing bans (if they do not have this power, then they should) after a warning. This and the spoiler situation have gotten out of hand..

Guys,

You do realise this issue is one of the reasons why a 'Former pro player' section was added to the message board? It was done in the hopes that the Graf-Seles 'fans' would be able to limit their 'discussions' to one or two on-going threads and stop clogging up a more active part of the board ('General pro player' section).

He isn't being a baby. You've been here less than two months. He has been here longer, and has seen the Graf-Seles issue beaten to death, and then some. I think that his complaint is legitimate, and the moderators have taken notice when the complaints have made sense.
Thanks for the back up Polaris!

The Graf-Seles debate is tiresome, and kept alive mainly by someone with serious emotional problems it would seem, but still it has the right to drone on.
Perhaps it could be kept in it's proper place where it could easily be avoided, like a leper colony would be.

I leave it at this. One of the moderators cleaned up the other thread and another moderator took the time to sent me an email and explain things. To me that is classy.
