Monfils doesnt deserve 19 losses

Nah, he at least had a chance.

After he lost this he was never going to beat Djokovic though even in 100 tries.

Monfils really blew it in his career when it came to seizing moments.

This was his biggest one. Golden opportunity to make his first slam final and just clowned it away against a wayward Djokovic was begging to be put away.

Lets not forget this one, final set tie break in the final of Paris masters. This was the closest Monfils ever got to winning a big title, Djokovic did him there also.

I remember watching this match live. Gael himself said after the match that he will never beat him after that match.

The fact is, Gael played like a pussycat on match points.

The fact that Djokovic got all the way to the final that year was pitiful.

Yes he does. At least try something new instead of the same thing for 65 years straight.

S&v, r&v, hit every fh 100 mph, underhand serve every time, whatever but don't just do the same thing that gets you beat.

Sad thing is Monf can literally do anything he wants with the ball so there's just no excuse.

It may not have been the match I was hoping for against the GOAT, but it's still an honor and a pleasure to face @DJOKERNOLE. In spite of everything, it remains a positive week. I'm going to rest to be on top at the US Open. Thank you so much for your incredible support

so lemme get this straight. monfils asks for his autograph after he gets beat 19x in a row?!?
monfils is turning into a nextgenner

If a NextGenner got Novak’s autograph on his jersey after a Masters 1000 loss, they would be catching a lot of heat. I guess the players consider it a privilege to play against Djokovic, win or lose now that he has sealed his GOAT status.

Match-ups can be strange things. I guess, for some players, there are just some guys you're never destined to beat. For Ferrer, it was Federer (0-17), for Gasquet it's Nadal (0-18), for Monfils it's obviously Djokovic (0-19 and counting). Maybe it's at least partly a mental thing??

Yea he deserves 30 at least. 19 straight losses and you can’t manage to make a change in how you approach playing the guy? Hell go for broke on serve every time. No second serve speed. Just attack the net every point. . What do you got to lose? It’s the definition of insanity.
Tried that with only 30 minutes of daylight left. N
I think they said, on Tennis Channel, that Gael won at least one match before they entered the main ATP Tour.

For Gasquet and Ferrer it was definitely a matchups issue. But as someone has already pointed out earlier in the thread, players worse than Monfils have beaten Djokovic.

Monfils actually beat Federer after saving 5 matchpoints in Paris 2010. It's amazing how he could never get it done with Djokovic, despite having so many chances. Such a mug.
