Amazing. They were kids when Nole beat him in 5 at the usopen. Monfils never won a match.
Thanks for the clarification. I thought he at least won a couple of their matches despite the 19-0 h2h.Amazing. They were kids when Nole beat him in 5 at the usopen. Monfils never won a match.

Unfortunately he didn't.Thanks for the clarification. I thought he at least won a couple of their matches despite the 19-0 h2h.
Had to re-visit their H2H match scores just to Ketchup on these victoriesI am just relishing in this victory.
I remember watching this match live. Gael himself said after the match that he will never beat him after that match.Nah, he at least had a chance.
After he lost this he was never going to beat Djokovic though even in 100 tries.
Monfils really blew it in his career when it came to seizing moments.
This was his biggest one. Golden opportunity to make his first slam final and just clowned it away against a wayward Djokovic was begging to be put away.
It may not have been the match I was hoping for against the GOAT, but it's still an honor and a pleasure to face @DJOKERNOLE. In spite of everything, it remains a positive week. I'm going to rest to be on top at the US Open. Thank you so much for your incredible support
Yea he deserves 30 at least. 19 straight losses and you can’t manage to make a change in how you approach playing the guy? Hell go for broke on serve every time. No second serve speed. Just attack the net every point. . What do you got to lose? It’s the definition of insanity.
The fact that Djokovic got all the way to the final that year was pitiful.
If a NextGenner got Novak’s autograph on his jersey after a Masters 1000 loss, they would be catching a lot of heat. I guess the players consider it a privilege to play against Djokovic, win or lose now that he has sealed his GOAT status.

Seems like Gael has the potential to beat DjokerIt was because of guys like Monfils clowning away golden opportunities.
Youzhny once beat Djokovic twice in the same year.Worse players than Monfils have beaten Djokovic over the years so I do feel a bit sorry for Gael.

I think they said, on Tennis Channel, that Gael won at least one match before they entered the main ATP Tour. Thanks for the clarification. I thought he at least won a couple of their matches despite the 19-0 h2h.
Tried that with only 30 minutes of daylight left. NYea he deserves 30 at least. 19 straight losses and you can’t manage to make a change in how you approach playing the guy? He deserves 20, I agree.I am sad![]()
A bloody Futures match in 2004 if you want to stretch it that farUnfortunately he didn't.
Potential Means Gael Just hasn't Done It YetOf course he does or did, the guy played him close several times but blinked. And many times with Djokovic was in bad form, Monfils played even worse.
Red Clay?A bloody Futures match in 2004 if you want to stretch it that far
They're already way worse than the likes of Tsonga, Simon, Gasquet & Monfils.Hopefully the next generation of French players will be a bit better..lol
Probably, yes.Red Clay?
Let’s dunk on France. They're already way worse than the likes of Tsonga, Simon, Gasquet & Monfils.
Or play for the KnicksHopefully the next generation of French players will be a bit better..lol
For Gasquet and Ferrer it was definitely a matchups issue. But as someone has already pointed out earlier in the thread, players worse than Monfils have beaten Djokovic.Match-ups can be strange things. I guess, for some players, there are just some guys you're never destined to beat. For Ferrer, it was Federer (0-17), for Gasquet it's Nadal (0-18), for Monfils it's obviously Djokovic (0-19 and counting). Maybe it's at least partly a mental thing??
Enjoy it while you still can, in before the oil giant Arabs with all their ££££ gobble up football as well, just as they've done with the golf.Let’s dunk on France.

Everyone is going wild with the stealing avy thing. But Backspin is the one true, original avy copycat.Monfils had his chances in a few of the meetings but wasn’t clutch enough. Djokovic as he tends to do made him pay for it every time.
