Monfils *finally* with the Artengo shoes

Feast your eyes tennis fans, Monfils has some Artengo shoes.

Anyone recognize what model they are? Pretty sure they're TS990s but could be wrong.

Probably the 990s. I tried them in Spain back in May and regret not getting a pair. Back in Spain next month…
Do you know if Joma has a maximalist model again? Their Pro Roland from the early 2010s were so much better than the late 2010s Pro Roland

Yup, mentioned it in the other thread: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/inde...n-from-wilson-to-artengo.715494/post-16683676

I have a couple of pairs, but getting Artengo shoes, especially their top of the line ones (960s and 990s) and in particular the 960s was difficult. Decathlon France had told me they didn't expect any before August. Eventually the Lilac version they were available a bit earlier than sheduled, around the time Roland-Garros rolled out; as if they had hoped that Monfils playing the tournament with them would stimulate sales, but it wasn't meant to be. Even now I've been told by whoever at Decathlon answered my mail that at the moment, the shoes would only be available through their website. Sometimes when I visit a store I can see the odd 960/990 leftover sizes from months earlier, but nothing in terms of new stock. No idea if it's any better in the locations in other countries.

All that to say that if you really, really want a pair, you may want to order in advance.

Thank you for the details. I did see them in Valencia in May. I don’t recall what color they were.

I can only speak for where I live in France. Online they have all the colourways available. The hardcourt sky blue and black/grey variants as well as the orange clay version would be delivered in two days at a shop or at home, but I had to wait a good week for the Lilac shoes to be delivered. Maybe you'll have more or less luck in Spain; I simply suggest ordering in advance if you're time constrained.

Not a good debut given Monfils injury yesterday. It didn´t looked like he rolled his ankle or anything.

Apparently it's the same ankle he injured earlier this season, the one which forced him to miss Roland and Wimbledon. I read on l'Équipe that preliminary exams aren't looking good, therefore he's going back to Europe for further examination. He had played two rounds of singles and one round of doubles so far at Montréal, which he all won until his retirement.

I’m in FL, read the original thread and, after my jaw returned to its normal position below my eyes, ordered the deal of a lifetime for the 990s in orange. They were delivered to me in record time too, free of charge when I added a sweatshirt to meet the free delivery order total threshold.

Please report back! What shoes are you using now?
I have a pair of the clay and hard model. They're a pretty good uneventful pair of stable shoes. I'm not certain about the flat laces ; I haven't tried putting round laces on them. They don't fit me as well as the previous TS990 which were much narrower, and I wouldn't wear the 960 without my orthotics. I also have never worn shoes with that much Z height in the toebox... In terms of fit, I somewhat prefer the cheaper TS560, although the 960 is a higher quality shoe overall. Artengo doesn't do half sizes, so it's hard to get the fit that I'd want.

That's about it really. They're OK; they just don't fit me well.
