Apparently the reason why he was using other shoes (On, Nike) was because Décathlon was still working on the fit of his Artengo shoes, tweaking the mould to fit his foot. You can see him trying a few pairs from around 15 minutes onwards, discussing the modifications they've done.

I was on a trip to colombia a couple weeks ago and gotta say, decathlon's presence out there is insane. you can find their stores in every mall.
And it is awesome, many people can start practicing almost anything without having to break the piggy bank. Did you see the "ciclovia"? Roller skates, roller blades, bicycles, clothes; in the parks, clubs, everywhere there's someone using something from Decathlon and bought at a pretty decent price.

That's was a surprisingly fun watch. Cool to see him and Stan hangout and train

i did happen to be in bogota during one of those. i was stunned how dead the city was for how big of a city it is

how much tape do you all reckon he has under the bumper?
Around 1.7m using the common narrower 6.35mm wide tape. If the strung sw without lead is 320kgcm2, that would be needed to bring it to 370. Similar with Djokovic, Nadal, Murray, Cilic etc

Should be (much) less if using higher density lead tape. It’d be challenging to hide 1.7m worth of lead tape under the bumper. lol.

It's precisely what has been done on tour for 40+ years, hiding thick layers of lead under the bumper, nothing new. Lead always has the same density, which is precisely why it's used, along with its malleability and low melting point, I'm guessing you mean thicker/wider instead of higher density. 12.7mm wide lead tape is also commonly used, but it ends up being the same, two narrower bands next to each other, or one wider. I used the narrower as an example because that's what most tennis players know, and often see on pro player's racquets at 3&9. Coco Gauff has a generous amount of wide lead tape in the racquet throat for example.

I'm also somewhat curious if racquet manufacturers fill the frames at the top with some material also, if lead can't fit neatly under the bumper. They probably do, but only for their top stars, rest of players has to negotiate that with their customizers I'm guessing

by high density i meant "heaiver" by length.
i have the "normal" ones by both Gamma and Tourna in 1/4" width, which is around 0.25g per inch.
the higher density one i use more often is around 1g per 1.25" (same 1/4" width), which is quite handy if i need to bump up the TW at around 3/9 locations. i believe this is the one used on golf clubs.

I think Travaglia plays with a Wilson with String Project Sirius. String Project's logo is somehow similar to the Artengo's and he has the String Project Stencil on his Wilson

Yeah those tapes are just thicker layers of lead atop the adhesive. Lead, as a material, is the constant you're working with.

Hi all

Just a small post because I have some exciting news, I am surely not entitled to post or spoil anythibg.. but expect a new Monfils frame BEFORE the end of the season. I still work for Decathlon so yes, you can trust me.

I’ll give you this as I can’t spoil anything:

let US all unite with some nice music. What about PURPLEEEE RAIN PURPLEEE RAIN

Isn’t it on the site already (just not in stock where I am) as the Kuikma Control Pro 305?

It’s really similar, they’ll have 2 versions out.

Thisone is the 305 16x19, Gael’s version will be almost the same colourway with a 18x20 pattern indeed! Good call, I think it wasn’t supposed to be on the website (already).. :D

Do you know if there is a change to the layup or anything, or is it simply an updated paint scheme? (admittedly the purple looks way better)

From what I’ve seen, the mold is slightly different, especially at the throat and they have a new vibration dampening system into it. Overall it looks clean, a little bit more professional than the first version.

Also, Decathlon will have all their racketsports equipment in KUIKMA now, as Artengo will slowly fade away. (A stupid decision imo as they finally had some credibility with Dasha and Gaël) but the team behind it stays the same normally, so only a name change.

just looked at the specs and they are 1:1, are you sure they changed anything other than the pj (maybe they just copied the text 1:1 from the old 960 tour). would love to see them release new stuff (especially updated 930/spin line) but nothing has happened yet :(

It’s still a copy paste text as the main info isn’t available for the public right now. It’s just strange that they have one of the 2 models already on their site but still asking people to stay quiet about the new racket.

You’ll see more info around the US Open period, I had the chance to check the frame in real, the mold is slightly different than the previous version. If I’m allowed to share more info later on, I’ll definitely will! :D

Thx for the Infos. Do you know what will happen with the 930 and 990 in the future?

They had planned to change Kasatkina’s line (the 990 Power series) this year as well, but they discovered some manufacturing issues. I can’t specifically say why though I know..

It is postponed to at least early 2026. The racket will logically be called ‘Kuikma TR Power Pro’ (at least the 300g version that Dasha uses)

What I can say is, check Bastian Fazincani’s instagram from time to time..(He used to coach Udvardy who played with the Artengo TR 930 Spin Pro for 2 seasons before going back to Yonex) He already has a prototype of the new Kuikma Power Pro, I honestly don’t know why haha

Not too shabby at 109.99 euros.
Isn’t the 18x20 just a different drill pattern to the 16x19, like the current black/grey version?

Why is it from their padel brand (Kuikma) instead of their tennis brand Artengo?
They did a large enquete worlwide but especially in Europe. Kuikma has been seen as one of the best home brands of Decathlon.

They launched and developped their first batch of high-level padel rackets with Horacio Clementi, former world number one. They have had enormous success and are rated one -if not- the best brand in terms of price/quality.

I do find it sad and I can’t really find myself in the decision to remove Artengo and continue further on with Kuikma for all racketsports and I’m not the only one. They FINALLY had the brand recognition they wanted.. But let’s give it a shot anyway

They’re great rackets for an even better price indeed

Before they used to have 3 rackets in the TR960 Control range:

-TR960Control PRO - different mold, 300g 31.5cm balance - 100’ frame - RA69

-TR960 Control TOUR - the frame from Gaël, available in 16x19 and 18x20 string pattern.

Both 98’ frames - 305g - 31.5cm balance
Lower RA (64-65)

Not sure if they will make a new Pro, only focus on the tour. New dampening technology in the racket throat, together with the already known Softfeel tech to reduce impact at the shot.

New detailed photos on the website as well so might as well post them!

Kuikma Control Pro (305g)

The colorway that Gaël will be using but with his 18x20 pattern. 305g 98 inch frame and 65RA.
I guess they hold the launch for the 18x20 model for later this year as was initially communicated to us.

Kuikma Control Pro 300g

The different mold with a 100 inch frame, 300g and a stiffer RA of 69.

As you can see, both molds are out and ready for order as of now, only the Gaël’s edition with a 18x20 pattern is not out (yet)

Cheers! :D
