yep...it's a PJ...you gotta look for pics of players that are still rather than players that are swinging the racket, because when the racket gets faded, it can look like anything.
 
It probably is a LiquidMetal or at least an Intelligence Prestige. If you think about it, Monfils is from a whole new generation of players. We're almost getting past the point where players are really using a PS 6.0, or a POG, or a Classic 600.

Well to be fair i cant see pj on pogs being common, nxg sure but nobody wants them, nor are ps 6.0 easy to pj other than tour 90s
 
This actually makes for a good discussion. What racquets do the players of this generation (the 18, 19, and 20 year olds etc.) actually use if they have a PJ? If they are signed by Head would they perhaps be using Titanium or Intelligence racquets? Or if they use Prince, maybe the Triple Threat racquets?
 
when the liquidmetals came out everyone on here says that no one used them and they were all pjs, now that the FXPs are out no one uses them and they are all using liquidmetals...why cant anyone believe that some of the young pros are actually using some of the new rackets?
 
Because the FXP Prestige just came out. Like a few months ago. Monfils would not have the time to switch to it. The frame he has under his paint is probably the same one that he used to win 3 junior grand slams in 2004. Which is what we are speculating on.

The point remains for the Liquidmetals. When they first came out, the younger pros were still using the previous generation of racquets. The new generation of Monfils, Murray, Djokovic and the rest of them hadn't really settled in with their racquets and finalized their sticks later.

Anyways, if it's a Prestige, then it's either a Liquidmetal or a i.Prestige.
 
I've seen his LM pj so I don't think it's that. Can't think of any other head frame he would be using besides Pc600.
 
Why do some people here think he plays with the LM Prestige?

Have you never seen any pictures of his fake LM Prestige from last year?

In any case, you'd be right already. Gasquet himself is using a legitimate Liquidmetal racquet.
 
Not an LM, in Ace they had a full A4 close up photo of him with his racquet infront of his face, it had the pj'd LM "humps"
 
Eh , Vince cant find it but if im to hazard a guess i'd say about October-March 2004-2005 sometime in between them
 
Safin seems to have the FXP, one tourny but the next he doesnt. There was a pic where you could clearly see the dimples but the next tourny it was a blatant pj
 
Monfils was using a "real" i. prestige 630 in junior times. But at the beginning of 2005 he switched to a LM pj'ded PC 600. Head was stupid enough to give it to him. And now he is still using this stick with a FXP pj. The onliest thing which is different except the paint is the new bumper. So you can paint the "dimples" white and some guys believe it's a real FXP;-)

That for me Jonnyf? I thought the general consensus was that he used a real LM Instinct XL.
 
I'm just surprised that Monfils would still be actually using a PC600. I mean, when do Juniors decide on a racquet they're going to use for the forseeable future? It couldn't have been anymore than 8 years ago. 8 years ago was 1998! What junior player is playing with a PC600 after 1998?? It just doesn't make sense. I think people have to realize that life is moving on and no longer are the pros using the classic racquets of the 80's and early 90's, even if it's under a paintjob. I know the PC600 was around for awhile so I guess it is possible. But what about someone like Djokovic. Surlely he's not using a PS 6.0 Original or a 6.1.
 
Monfils latest rqt is a flexpoint pj. I'll post pics tomorrow as I've just returned from Wimbledon where I strung 3 of them.

Ok

I also took the following info from 1 of the 3 rqts.

weight : 368g
S/weight : 386
balance point 12" 7/8 approx
rqt length : 27"
Grip size : 4 5/8 (plus at least 1 tourngrip)
CAPS : Flexpoint CAPS
String tension 26/25kg

As you'll see the rqt has the now familiar painted flexpoint holes and the rqt has proper flexpoint CAPS not the normal PC600 CAPS. There was also lead visible at the top of the rqt under the CAPS.

I would also suspect that Safin is using the same set for his rqt (painted holes & FXP CAPS) on his suspected PC600.
