Yeah I agree. I think because I’m looking at it from first 2 rounds. Where he’s often struggled with lack of matches, adapting to surface, playing tricky opponents for first time or wind. His first 2 opponents don’t look as bad so he can then hopefully get through and build momentum. By the quarters he will be more ready for a tougher player should he make it. Sinner is playing well but he’s not a proven winner yet and not the worst matchup for Novak from top 10-15 players.

We will see what happens. Novak obviously biggest priority is slams so this may come too soon for him. As you said he struggled last 2 years against what looked like easier opponents. I still would take this early draw he’s got but yeah I don’t think he’s favourite for this title either. I expect Novak to get stronger on clay the further we get into clay season.
