New NextGen Masters champion.

Rublev overtakes Federer in the rankings, reaching a career-high of #7. #6 with the title.

The winners gets his maiden Masters title and leads the 2021 ATP race.

I'm going with the Russian in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. Rublev beat him in straights just a couple months ago in Rotterdam, he should have a lot of confidence after beating Rafa as well.

If Rublev wins, he passes Zverev on the World Rankings. He already passed Federer by making the semi I believe.

Call these two NewGen.
NextGen already expired mostly.

I’m going with the guy who is actually hitting winners and winning real clay rallies: Rubles. Hopefully he does it cleanly in straights because there is no real threat from his opponent, especially on return.

His opponent has been a bigger fraud than his social content, surviving almost purely on huge UE counts from imploding opponents at this super duper low energy tournament.

Rublev in 3. Seems on a mission after Miami and he has the measure of Tsitsipas in general.
They are 2-2 in the last four meetings. Tsitsipas won the most important of those four in straight sets at RG’20. It was a rematch of their Hamburg final 10 days before that Rublev won in three (7-5 comeback in the third). Is that “having the measure” of him?

This should be very close but I’m leaning towards Tsitsipas in three, losing his first set all week because Rublev is that good.

I will watch as a neutral. I am no fan of either players but I like them just enough to be interested. I think it’s 50-50. Whoever has the form on the day wins.

If YouTuber can get into the court and go for the net, Rublev will have trouble. A pure baseline battle is Rublev's to lose.

Hope for a cracker here!

You correctly pointed out the fault in my language use. Perhaps what I wanted to say was that Rublev has demonstrated he can beat Tsitsipas, lol.

Angrev coming out this early could be bad for Rublev. Tsitsy looking very confident.

Tsitsy bashers like myself can bash Tsitsy while he bashes Rublev. The Tsitsy fans can then bash us for bashing Tsitsy. Who bashes the Tsitsy fans? They seem to take it very to heart when he gets bashed, so they can take their bashings that way.
