isn't there some sort of Nadal curse, or am i misremembering

Not if you're Djokovic, who beat him in the 2015 semis at MC.

You're referring to RG, where the player who took him out went onto lose the final.

Tsitsipas striptease before signing the camera was the highlight of the Evans match.

Lol. The bwehs are in full force. Shame about that smash though.

No I mean in general. It has happened quite a lot across the tour over the last several years.

Since Delpo at the 2009 USO it seems virtually all players who beat Nadal before a slam final lost either the next match or shortly thereafter, and only DJokovic at the 2018 Wimbledon actually won the title.

Well Federer up until W 2019, the last of his 16 wins, always won the title when he went through Nadal, yes, many were finals, but some were not.

In slams though, yes, you are right, if you beat Nadal early you likely lose in the final.

I had put together a list at the slams but can't find the post now. It had only happened like twice ever.

It's rare outside of slams too, of course. And doubly so on clay. Fognini's MC and Thiem's Barcelona in 2019 were real outliers.

Correct, was basically 1 ace away from continuing. Djoko brought an end to a phenomenal streak + the Nishikori streak (up to that point the last 5 Slams were won by people who beat Nishikori en route)

Yep. For Federer facing Nadal early means his chances of winning skyrocket, so he is immune to the curse unless it is 40-15 against Djokovic. LOL
