Good to see Gasquet getting a wildcard and that Murray decided to play. Can't wait till it starts, one of my favorite tournaments of the year. Draw comes out tomorrow.

I agree ... I'm disappointed that Delpo's still on the injury list ... OTOH it's interesting news that Nalbandian has protected ranking @ 15 ...

PLUS Nadal w/b going for his 6th consecutive Monte-Carlo Championship! :D

Yeah, should be an exciting tournament even without some top players in it.

Am also interested to see how Ferrero does after the success he had in Latin America.

That's true ... the top 4-5 have a tendency to suck up all the oxygen ... this will give some of the others more of a chance to shine ... I'm hoping Nole and Andy have improved enough over Miami to make a good showing ... but of course I gotta root for Rafa to take his sixth in a row! :)

p.s. Good point about JCF ... I'm sure he'll be giving it his all.

this cannot be happening. Is delpo finished?

Hopefully not, but it's very concerning. Apparently, he's in the States this week, consulting a hand/wrist specialist somewhere in New England. He already went thru about a month of complete wrist rest, no practice, no nothing ... sadly that apparently did not do the trick ... very bad luck for the young man!

I'm guessing back injury still. Old man playing it smart like Fed.

He's ok from what I gathered.
He probably feels that it would ok to rest some more, since the clay season is quite crowded, so there's plenty of tournaments in the coming weeks in order to get some momentum going on this surface.

He had a quarter to defend here, so that's why I was surprised to find out about it.

Wawrinka is in Djokovic's section. They have had some beauty matches the last two years. 08 Rome Final and 09 MC semis. He could do some damage.

There's a lot of possible interesting matches as soon as the 2nd rnd:
Gulbis-Wawrinka
Youzhny-Nalbandian
Cilic-Andreev
Berdych-Gasquet
Chardy-Ferrer
Tsonga-Almagro

Looks exciting!

Hopefully Nalby continues to improve and Muzza can unslump himself.

Not really a Nole fan but it would be good for the game if he brought himself round too.

Should be some good games, I wonder if the seeds will fall early on as has been happening recently.

No Ljubicic?

Ljubo's definitely on this new and improved Seeds list! :)

Also, guess they were keeping one WC available in case Roger changed his mind, but since that didnt happen, they gave the 4th WC to Australian Bernard Tomic

Ferrero, although no longer what he was six years ago, is still a very dangerous clay courter, he did beat Nadal in rome a couple of years ago.
