I wanna buy the AO09 Rafa Night Edition (which is impossible to get) or the Federer USO09 (black shirt, red neck) - does anyone know where to find it?

(Those were by the way the coolest gear Nike has produced in like 5 years)

It was an educated guess. Or you know that he gets it waxed?

youre the one who made the observation ... er, statement ... I make no such profession of knowledge ... well, except to say that ... uh ... nvm ...

OTOH, I must say I would prefer to see the new, slimmer, trimmer Nalbandian play Nole than Stan! :p

The water-polo guy is stealing the show.

Djoker looking solid enough from the baseline, not brilliant, but pretty solid, hopefully he will recover some confidence and recreate some of last year performances.

Five out of eight quarter finalists are Spanish. Two are guaranteed to be in the semis, most likely Nadal and Verdasco. Ferrer has a good chance too. Quite a statement, although there has been substantial help of a depleted draw.

If Verdasco, Ferrer, Nadal and Djokovic reach the semis my "ATP Challenge Draw" will get a sudden boost of points - along with 8000 other users or so. ;)

Come to think of it, were there any Americans in the draw? Bryan Bros are the only ones I can think of ... Doubles carrying the torch

Clay is not manly enough for USA tennis players. Defensive tennis is for pussies that can't produce 100 mph winners. Damn pushers, where's my shotgun, I'll get them off my lawn!

Jokes apart, USA is pretty deep, there is Roddick, Fish, Blake, Isner, Querrey, Odesnik, Young... That speaks of a powerful country. They just don't bother with clay, and I do think it has something to do with the "aggressive success" mentality that is instilled into the young ones.

Producing top 5 players is not a matter of depth, it is dumb luck (see Switzerland, Serbia or UK). As of recently Spain has only had two top 5 when Ferrer strung some good results and climbed ever so briefly to #4. Something like the Sampras-Agassi era is a complete freak.

BTW, until very recently Spanish players didn't bother with anything else than clay.

cucio, you can be fun to read but the USA! USA! USA! stuff's gotta stop...LOL. As an American, I insist you knock it off with this sh-- before someone thinks we ALL swagger around like George Bush (yikes)!!

Now as to the Americans and clay...are you kidding? Where the heck do you even SEE a clay court? It's all about asphalt here...remember the song? Take paradise, put up a parking lot.

Doubles carrying the torch (with their cute blue plaid shorts, like Rafa's. :) )

A-Rod had said he wouldn't enter, and Sam played last week in Houston.

(Feña and Lleyton were also in Houston and not MC, but Feña had a statement on his site that he was making some coaching team changes and would rejoin the tour in Barcelona.)

LOL, I must have watched one high school movie too many, that's the only rational explanation, just don't mind me. But behold, no country escapes my viper tongue, I can bash the best of them. Save Kazakhstan, of course, which is niiiiiiiiice!

Weird. For Thursday every player on the right side of the docket lost, without exception. Interesting.

Ferrer has a potty mouth. Players should learn to swear in Spanish so they are not warned by the umps.

Ooh, nice BHDTL to get the break back by PK! On serve.

I guess these two players are the least monitored, judging by the posts through this match

Not high profile players, well out of the top 10 (#17 and #33), and not playing a particularly extraordinary match. Yup, not exactly a post-jerker.

Besides, I don't know about you, but I am having problems to access TT servers today, getting a lot of "connection reset" messages.

TT is very slow today, I am struggling with it as well

That's right. 1:30pm local time. 8:30am eastern, I think.

Well, keep in mind that Monte Carlo is 6 hours ahead of EST (Eastern Standard Time). The Ferrer-Nadal match actually begins in Monte Carlo time at 1:30pm. Thus, the match begins in EST at 7:30am.

Then Djokovic/Verdasco takes place afterwards, presumably no earlier than 1.5 hours after 7:30am...thus, 9am EST or thereabouts.

See ya'll at 7:30am EST!!! VAMOS
