This might be one cracker of a match ( unless Nole loses it mentally/physically). Both players have shown good form in the tournament. If it goes to 3 sets, i would out my money on Verdasco. I will be rooting for Nole though.

Should be a great match to watch. Dang, I like both players, but I think Verdasco will come out with guns blazing. Verdasco in 3 because of UFEs.

They are even on clay. Djokovic win at the FO last year and Verdasco in Hamburg the year before. I presume that it will be close because it now looks as if the winner is very likely to go against Nadal. And, yes, I give Nadal credit for knocking off Davydenko who I think will knock off Nalbandian and Murray/Fognini.

Verdasco in straight sets. He was on fire against Ferrer, and I think Djokovic is an overrated clayer.

This has the potential to be an awesome match!

Verdasco seems to be in good form having absolutely stomped Ferrer today (6-2 6-1), that's especially impressive given that Ferrer had crushed Gicquel and Lopez in the previous rounds.

Djokovic seems to have been in great form so far though as well; I'm not sure he's really faced a testing opponent yet but he's had convincing results and if he is really in the groove then he's always going to be a real force.

I think it's likely to be 3 sets which ever way it goes, I'll be cheering on Nando, and think he might just have the edge if he keeps his head.

Fed fanboy coming to troll and bash Djokovic on Djokovic match thread. Nothing new, but it is hypocritical when the same poster criticizes Nadal's fans for the same thing.

We saw clearly who is overrated clay player today.

Oh? Do you know what you are talking about? Last year Djokovic was in semis at FO, MC, and Hamburg. Winner in Rome.

Your favorite Verdasco in the same tournaments: R16 in FO and Rome. Q in Hamburg and R64 in MC.

Conclustion? Djokovic is rated correctly as the third best clay court player in the world. Verdaso is qualified to carry the clay to the court. Thats all.

Verdasco in one. Yeah, he's that good.

I went with "Verdasco in two" because I strongly believe in him.

What are you doing up so late?

Verdasco in one would have been a very nasty comment. Thanks for going with "two". I actually like Verdasco and thought he should have won vs. Nadal at the AO. He is just a head case, right?

I do. Go Nole!
Hey, hey. Have you noticed how the crowd here is beginning to shift in their attitude? When Djokovic was roaring last year, he was considered to be the pits. His parents were awful, his dog was bad. Now that he is struggling with his game, it's O.K. Noel. Good luck to you. Etc, etc.

It's called "tough love" :)

I think it will be a close match, a 3 setter. I think Verdasco will pull it off in 3. They both have equal wins against each other (on clay and hard court) so it should be pretty close.
I look forward to this match, should be epic.

Djokovic in 3. For some strange reason, I really don't like Verdasco. Maybe it is because he shows up on court with his hair gelled up looking like a clown.

Gel, that's a good reason not to like him. :p

I like his dedication to fitness and the way he's been competing this year.

This is about as hard to pick from as there is. Verdasco is a beast. I love his forehand. His backhand isn't breaking down as much. The courts are playing quite slow. Not sure who that favors. I think I'll give the edge to Verdasco since he looks extremely confident right now.

I'd say Verdasco in 3,,
Just because I don't know what verdasco is capable of on clay with the form he is in now

Verdasco in 2 or Djoko in 3.

Like all hyped matches, this one is doomed to end with some world-class choking.

I love them both, and i'd be happy if novak would surprise me and be better on this clay than is nando; however, nando is the clay man between those two. Nole's clay skills are clearly improving since the DC loss to espana in benidorm last month, so i'm guessing nando will feel just that bit more at ease, tho could possibly need 3 to take the win.

I'm not sure I would agree,Novak's first slam quartefinal(sort of his breakthrough)was in FO 2006 and he reached FO semis in 2007 and 2008.Last 3 years at FO,he only lost to Nadal and gave Nadal the toughest match at the FO last year(even had a SP).

While he's at his best on slow HC IMO,he grew up on clay and is pretty comfortable there, certainly not a fish out of the water.

Djokovic has been the better claycourter than Verdasco, but the only reason I'm inclined to go with Fer in three is the way he beat Ferrer. I'll be happy with either one of them winning.

That's called a fauxhawk :p

hahaha nice

djokovic has come out nice and positive, determined to match fire with lazers, this should be great.

to whoever mentioned it, i'm a much bigger djoko fan now that he's struggled a bit. i think he's become a little more humble b/c of that and the ridicule he got over the racquet switch, and his game is coming together into an exciting one.

Stop posting breakfast foods! Some of us are very hungry and have yet to make it out of bed for breakfast. :)

I can't seem to access any of the streaming sites. Could someone post a direct link? I'll see if that works or otherwise I'll turn on the TV.

That doesn't look yummy at all.

Come on Verdasco, why can't he deliver against the big 4?

Djokovic has definitely come to play. Nando can be a slow starter, fitness could be a factor, so it ain't over. but the signs aren't great!
