FO 2013 was actually a very impressive campaign for Nadal. Defeated Nishikori, Wawrinka, Djokovic and Ferrer all in a row. Not a bad slew of players on clay.

That field and this right now, boy what a difference. Night and day, really. That's even with Fed having a terrible 2013.

In order to beat nadal on this stuff you have to be consistent from point to point. Even if he loses the first set you still feel he could win the match. It's like a gladiator in the ring. Even when Novak won the first set i still didn't think nadal was losing the match.

i don't think there's ever been a feeling that rafa would lose any match that he's played at RG even the ones he's lost

heck in 2015, djoker was 2 sets up and i still had this nagging feeling that he was just gonna crank it up 10 gears and storm back to a 5 set win and then steamroll his way to another RG title
