Monthly String shipping service?

Hello all,
So I was recently in France and was talking to a guy in a sports shop that was telling me about an online string service that he uses which auto ships his desired string or pre-cut hybrid to his house at the beginning of each month. He basically specifies his string and or hybrid, and the number of sets he wants each month and they auto ship to his home for Free. Keeps him from every running out and he basically can "set it and forget it." Another intriguing thing he mentioned was for people that are searching for the right string where you can select specific playing style and string characteristics and they will send you custom pre-cut hybrid sets that match those characteristics. They keep changing what they send you until you find the perfect set up.

Here is my problem - I did not write down the name of the service and can't remember what he called it and I have been unable to find anything like this on the internet. I'm now assuming that this must be a european service or possibly just in France. Has anyone ever used this service or something similar? I think its absolutely brilliant...

Not for nothing, but wouldn't those persons who already know what string(s) they like be better served by just buying a reel, rather than paying for auto-delivery of sets? Just sayin'...

Yes, for someone like you or myself or other adults a reel might be the best solution, but when I was a young player making minimum wage at a part time job in high school, buying a reel of luxelon and NXT was a major investment. As my game developed I also seemed to need to change strings and or racquets every year which is a big problem if I've got a two year supply of string. When I coached, I knew many young players with the same problem. Does no one else think this is a great thing or know the name of this service?

The website that is named after a river has that option for a limited number (30ish) strings. The service is called "Subscribe and save. " The short list includes 4g, Live Wire Professional, NXT Duramax, Savage, some Gamma polys. Looks like you need Prime membership.

Seems like it could be a pretty cool deal for people who are experimenting, searching, or just wanting to try new setups. It would depend on if there were competent people giving advice and making the string selections for you. It would really also depend on the price.

For me, when I try new strings, I will try the same strings at different tensions in order to get the best feel for a given string or setup.

You know I hadn't thought about the experimenting aspect as much, but was having dinner with a buddy last night who is a programmer. He was saying it would be cool to take the raw string data and specs and build an artificial intelligence learning program with it that learns as you try strings and constantly makes recommendations for you based on your likes and dislikes. A bit over my head, but he seems to think it wouldn't be that hard.

I assume you mean Amazon. There is another place called Walmart that carries Wilson, luxilon, head, and Tournament strings that have ship to store free and you just pick them up. And if you know what you're looking for there are always the auction site. But none of them have value added services, you just try and try until you find your string.
