More Records That Federer Can Set in 2012

It seems every match Federer plays, it is a historic occasion.

In 2012, Federer can set the following records:

Most Grand Slam semifinals - currently has played in 29, the record is 31 by Jimmy Connors.

Most Grand Slam Match wins - currently has 228, the record is 232 by Jimmy Connors.

If he wins the Australian Open or U.S. Open, he will have won the most Australian Opens or U.S. Opens in the Open Era.

If he wins Wimbledon, he will have tied Sampras with the most Wimbledons.

If he somehow wins the French Open, he would tie Guillermo Vilas for the most wins at the French Open and become the only male player in the open era to win all four of the grand slams at least twice.

If he wins a Grand Slam, he will have the record for most years winning at least one grand slam with 9 years.

If he wins a match at the ATP Tour Finals, he will have the record most wins at the tournament.

I believe the key word missing is "consecutive"


Fed has won at least 1 slam a year from 2003-2010. 2011 was a dry year for him. So he has 8 seasons thus far with at least 1 slam.

If he wins one in 2012, he will have 9 seasons, not consecutive season, but 9 season total.
