Most boring-to-watch player (Top 10s only)

Watching Isner play is boring, but Rafa plays joyless tennis himself. So, these two guys top my list.
Watching them play, I sense their matches suffocating under templates they employ in trying to minimize improvisation, which tends to leave me feeling short changed.

I would have once said Nadal, but that was because I had only seen him on TV, but I was lucky enough to be front row for his match with Tommy Haas at the AO this year and have completely changed my mind. Become a huge fan, actually. Moonballs? Idiots!

I find Berdych pretty boring, to be honest. A very one dimensional game.

Murray should be good to watch, but he gets into that defensive mindset and drives me mad, which is a shame because he really does have the shots...

DelPo is a bit boring too, it is fun at first, SMACK, SMACK, SMACK, but you soon tire of it and there isn't anything else to see in his game.

But this is a pretty silly thread, I defy anyone to watch any player in teh top 50 from courtside (NOT on TV!) and not be enthralled.

maybe that's just me.

whoever said Ferrer needs to see him play live, the energy is unreal, and I have seen him come to the net, hit FH winners, do lots of things besides 'grind'

actually, that is pretty much my answer, unless you have been down at court level watching these guys, you just have no idea.

Kudos to you sir.

****** is the most boring of all time. Isner is also a snoozefest. 3 shots or less when he is serving. He barely tries when he is returning. He is also stone handed at the net.

Nadal, Ferrer, Roddick, Hewitt... Imagine you paid for the match between any of them... should you go and sleep in the stadium or wait to see highlights on youtube?

Nadal.

He has never had to, or bothered to adjust his game even a little bit to take into account the opponent he is playing.

He faces a righty with a backhand vulnerable to high backhands, but one of the strongest forehands of all time? Nadal will loop high forehands to the backhand.

He faces a righty with the best backhand of all time that is especially effective against high balls? Nadal will loop high forehands to the backhand.

He faces a righty with an exceptionally strong backhand, but an extremely weak forehand? Nadal will loop high forehands to the backhand.

Well, hey, it works so why change it? It's just painfully boring to watch - will someone step it up and beat this fvcker.

Obviously those that say "Nadal on clay is the most boring player of all time" never had the opportunity to watch a Wilander match on clay. Can you say "40 stroke backhand-to-backhand rallies"? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

To me, Berdych is #1, followed closely by Roddick.

Federer fan? Anyway, why don't you make a post like this about Zantac when he picks on Nadal's backhand relentlessly? That's just fine and dandy though because he beats Nadal nearly everytime they play, right? Nadal is only supposed to play to other players strengths, while everyone else can do the opposite, right? This place is so ridiculous at times that it really does boggle the mind.

I find big servers the most boring.

Ace, ace, 2 shot rally, 3 shot rally, ace, double fault.

Not exactly riveting stuff

The problem is Federer's game is so good to watch that it makes everyone else's boring by comparison!
But I do actually also think that Rafa has a little bit of magic in his game (rare occasions when he's not camping himself 100 feet behind the baseline).
Djok, Murray... Meh

All in my personal opinion of course.
