Well what do you ya know. Those weak era clowns Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick are in the top 5!

Yeah, not bad for clowns.

How about Agassi being really high up despite retiring in 2006. And so much for Capriati being a bad three Slam winner. She had one more QF than co 3 Slam winner Sharapova (and Capriati only played half the decade).

Didn't know Dementieva made so many Slam QF's. Thanks for the post, JennyS.

You're welcome. Yeah, Dementieva made the US Open semis back in 2000 and she's been making QF's consistently for the last several years.

BTW, for those interested: Safina, Jankovic and Ivanovic had 7, 6 and 5 each. Pretty bad for such hyped players!

To be fair, Safina did just make her career breakthrough at the French last year and wasn't really a top player until then. Not even like she was that hyped coming up as a younger player from what I saw, and probably gets bashed on here more than hyped.

Jankovic and Ivanovic, yep they were definitely hyped. So far haven't lived up to expectations. But I wouldn't say that Safina was hyped anywhere near the level they were.

This thread shows how much Andy Roddick had accomplished even when people call him the one-slam wonder. Nice Stats like every one of your threads.

Thanks!

Roddick has had a much better career than many two time Slam winners. Losses to the eventual Champion at 5 Wimbledons and 4 US Opens!

Let's compare his numbers to some of the players from the 90s which Pete's fans like to praise them so much.

Ivanisevic - 12
Andre - 18
Chang - 12
Becker - 13
Kafelnikov - 8
Muster - 8
Courier - 15

Only one guy BARELY did better than Roddick is Andre, who is consider the 2nd best player in the 90s. Roddick blows away almost every players from Pete's major competition. What great competition in the 90s when a guy like Roddick(being under the radar in this era) outshined most of their elite players.

Roddick is the unluckiest player to ever play the sport. Only Chris Evert I would say is more unlucky than Roddick since Martina denied her so many majors. Players in the 90s never faced a dominant player as Federer, who stand in EVERYBODYS' way(must beat him to win slams).

I think someone once said that Roddick is the most underrated overrated player of all time. I agree! I'll post the semifinal count next.

Remember though that Roddick 00 - 02 was like Djokovic 05 - 06.
If Roddick was 1 - 2 years older his numbers would have been even higher.
