Imagine a player has 20 French and nothing else……

he wins Most Outside Grass and Most Outside Hardcourt…..

This rather proves the opposite of what you are trying to imply.

0 WTF titles though. Let that sink in.
0 Olympic Gold medal. Let that sink in. Olympic Gold medals are so important and precious to the so-called GOATs to the point making them "cry like a baby" after failing to win time after time. In comparation, nobody cares enough to cry if not wining a WTF

He'd be nowhere in "outside clay", whereas Nadal is at 4th in the open era only behind hard and grass goats.
So, I would say it disproves the statement that Nadal is just a one surface wonder.

WTF what? WTF died when the final started to be played BO3.. just another small tourney more..
It is a pity that the final is no longer played in the best of five sets.
I think the same of the final in tennis at the Olympic Games and not to mention the Davis Cup.
:confused::(

Yes but WTF is even worse...
1- It allows you to lose UP to 2 matches and still win.. theoretically you can win it just winning 3 BO3 matches...
2- You can be replaces by another player in case of injury who with inherit your h2h at the moment...
if you ask me those 2 points make the WTF kind of a "joke" tournament...

played indoors with a lot of flashlights looking cheap and king of las vegas from the atp..

WTF is the fifth most important tournament and it would be nice if tennis fans on this site did not downplay its importance to fit their agendas.

Used to be... the same as Australian open used to be less prestigious and nowadays is more or less on par with the rest..

IN the late 70s through 80s.. and until early 90s.. the indoor tournaments were much more prestigious, specially the Master Coup and WTC finals.

The round robin system is better for team competition like Davis Cup. The final 8 players should have a playoff system similar to the NHL and NBA. #1 vs #8 vs #4 vs #5 VS #2 vs #7 vs #3 vs #6 make each match bo5. Medvedev and Djokovic lost finals to players they ALREADY had beaten in the RR. In addition, Nadal defeated Tsitisipas, but due to the set pct he was knocked out by Zverev. ATP should also shift to other surfaces as Grass and Carpet as the old days.

I think it's legit to say that the ATP finals is a small thorn in the Nadal legacy. However, Nadal actually is like 5-0 on bo5 indoor HC, but never had opportunity to play in bo5 matches like the old days. Maybe the 2010 Final with Federer could've gone another direction, but we'll never know.

Should this really be about where you are on each surface, specifically the Big 3 against each other……

Nadal is 1st for clay, 3rd for HC and 3rd for grass

joker is 2nd for clay, 1st for HC and2nd for grass

fedex is 3rd for clay, 2nd for HC and 1st for grass

this is more accurate rather than using your ridiculous number of French as a battering ram against logic…..

It's round robin, bo3 and on a single surface that benefits those that are best on that surface.

To make it influential in the discussion, make it a single elimination draw, best of 5 sets and rotate surfaces between hc and clay since grass isn't practical in winter or indoor.

Imagine a player has 20 French and nothing else……

Imagine a player with 22 French Opens and nothing else. You are imagining the greatest tennis player of all time.

Imagine someone winning their first FO at 18 and winning every FO, fending off generation after generation until the age of 40. That would not just be the greatest achievement in tennis. It would be the greatest achievement in all sport.

This player does not exist. The closest thing we have is the GOAT Rafa Nadal. #1 #1 #4

Revere him.

Your logic is flawed as well. Being the 1st with a difference of 10 slams is not the same as being the 1st just one slam ahead.

Yes but you 1st , 2nd 3rd measure also ignores a big part

I could be better than you in two categories trailing for 1 title and lose in a third category for 20 titles... That would appear as if I am the better player because 2 categories thrumps 1 ....but it ignores the magnitude of how much better I am in each category...
The HC difference is not as big as the distance Nadal takes on Clay with the rest.... Being 13 times more successful than Federer and 6,5 times more successful than Djokovic... Federer is only 1,8 times more successful in HC slams than Rafa and 4 times more successful on Grass, when talking about slam wins.

Most slams won outside a weak era:

Nadal 21
Djokovic 20
Federer 8*

*5 of the 8 vultured in the absence of the other two who would have surely stopped him had they met
