Most "watchable" tennis player of all time...

Well for me......

Sampras (the serve...so great, big and clutch, his forehand, attacking style and athleticsm)
Edberg (so elegant and graceful, great volleyer, just nice to watch and of course the backhand)
Graf (the forehand, great movement, nasty slice backhand)
Stich (long, but so fluid)
Becker (how a video game player should play)
Federer (easy on the eyes, fluid mover and has a nice forehand)
Karlovic (just to see him bomb serves ...and improved volleyer, slow as molasses, but fun as hell to watch)
McEnroe (loved the game..... and love the tantrums even more!!!!)

Add Fabrice Santoro to this list and it is perfect. Fabrice may not be great but damn he is so entertaining, he comes out with shots that are just amazing and really is a magician. I always make sure I catch Fabrice Santoro play.

Nastase, of course.

Someone listed Sampras? He was a snoozefest. Whether the match was enjoyable or not was a function of who he played.

Here's my two cents...in no particular order.

John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, Radek Stepanek, Hicham Arazi...I think that you can tell by my age that I am not under 30!

Damn I completely forgot about Arazi, he was definitely very watchable, loved the half volley in particular

Men

Connors - loved the mind, shots and soul
Mecir , Santoro, Leconte - Artists
Lendl, Wilander and Chang - scientists
McEnroe - Laver artist and scientist
Edberg - soooo fluid
Federer - sigh -

Women

Evert, King - scientists
Sabatini, Hingus, Hana - artists
Seles - shots and soul
Navratilova - sigh

I don’t know why, but I love to see Daniela Hantuchova, Nicole Vaidisova and Maria Kirilenko…
Maybe it’s for their BACKhand?!?!?

:)

I think you've got this about right:)

From watching Wimbledon much more than the others, I really think Sampras (even though he is a GOAT candidate), put thousands of people off tennis in this country (England) possibly for good. He was simply too good with his serve volley game compared to everyone else, it was boring to watch. And I mean boring to watch a whole match. I would love to watch him for a couple of service games, but after that, what was the point? Wimbledon in the 90's killed tennis in this country because it was all serve/volley and was dull to watch a whole match!!

Ironically now it has gone the other way, and there is almost no S+V, it's arguably become boring again. Ideally tennis would return to an all-court game (like in the 80's), but don't think it will happen any time soon:(

So most watchable, I would go for McEnroe and Connors, for excitement, skill, energy, all-court game, crowd involvement, just basically great to watch:)

Edberg for S+V, he really was I think the best ever when at his best, so skillful and truly amazing volleys:)

Gonzales currently (as one other poster mentioned), he just hits the ball so hard all the time, just fantastic to watch live:)

Sometimes I forget if I have voted in these so forgive me if I repeat myself but on the mens: Edberg, Krishnan, Santoro
Womens: Goolagong, Hingis, Navratilova

i dind'nt see many people here saying Rafter... if any

maybe it's just my thing but i did enjoy watching him! among many others that is!

I would happily added Rafter and even more gleefully added Pat Cash, but with Edberg, Laver and McEnroe on my list, the S/V spots were taken!
