Mouratoglou and Rune end their “6-month adventure”

Sadly, Holger continues on with nauseating Patrick as his coach at the French Open:

Holger chooses Patrick: Lars Christensen not in Paris

Aneke Rune now confirms that Lars Christensen will not be present during Roland Garros

Holger Rune has once again chosen to take French Patrick Mouratoglou into the box, says Aneke Rune.

Now it probably feels most natural for Holger to take Roland-Garros with Patrick, as he has participated in the initial clay tournaments - except for Munich. Lars has been involved in messages and on the phone along the way, she says.

Lars has trained Holger Rune since he was a child. But in the current season, the Dane has excelled in his absence at several major tournaments. Lars has thus not been found in Rune's box since March, when he was with the Dane for Indian Wells and the Miami Open, and this has led many to speculate whether a change of coach is on the way.

The Rune camp itself has downplayed the speculation - most recently before the recently concluded tournament in Rome.

Aneke Rune informed TV 2 Sport that it is not a question of a permanent change of coach , but that it has been about distributing the resources - although without concretely elaborating on the reason for the changes.

Well Patrick is not so bad of a coach, imo. And besides, Simona Halep is out, alas.

Rune was at it again yesterday against Djokovic. Novak starts to make a comeback and he goes up 5-2 in the second set, so Rune starts arguing with the umpire about line calls and asks, well actually yells at the umpire, for a Physio for a "leg injury." He successfully broke Novak's momentum and ran like a deer as soon as his injury time out concluded.

It's this type of behavior and general lack of respect or appreciation for any of his opponents that sours me, and many others, on this kid. Ultimately, these type of behaviors will only detract from his career, but as I mentioned earlier, I doubt that he thinks he is doing anything wrong, and thus will never make any changes.

Rune is the complete opposite of Alcaraz in this regard. Alcaraz is all class, and Rune is just an ass.
Rune learned from the BOAT (Nole/Rafa). The GOAT never did that kind of things ;).

Tell me about it. It's been frustrating and a learning experience to go from rooting for Roger for 20+ years to then go with Holger. Roger handled himself on and off court to near-perfection. The immature gamesmanship from Rune is exasperating, but hopefully he'll mature. No one will ever be like Fed though, he was in a league unto himself.

I agree with you BeatlesFan, but I include Pete Sampras as a member of the extraordinary gentlemen's club, and Federer kept the tradition going.

I think it counts as the dirt of the century ;)

Thats all I have.
Holger: "Mom, I heard noises from you and Lars coming from the van...." :-D

I also love Federer's game. I love players who play tennis and not just hit tennis. People who try to win and create the game and not just defend.
He is/was a gentleman but also a bit too cold/arrogant for my taste.

Rune is not as bad as his reputation and he did grow up a lot in the last few months.
He has a brillant game and I like that he shows his emotion.

Roger is the most naturally gifted player - probably in my life time.

I look at all the news on Holger every morning, concentrating on the Danish media and then use Google translate. There are also Twitter and FB groups from Denmark with all sorts of insider news. Aneke Rune also answers questions and PM's fans. She's directly answered me twice when I've written her. She said in early May that Lars is still his coach. Yes, I'm American.
You are truly all in, wow!!! Where do you get Aneke to answer you?
