Movies that are Perfect?

Marnie also passed me by. Although you should Google Hitchcock and Hedren's personal history. It's bizarre at best!

Rebecca is excellent. As is the book.
I read somewhere that Hitchcock was taken by Tippi or rather obsessed with her. And also, maybe Grace Kelly?

I must give Austin Powers a shoutout. I was reading some thoughts about it not being funny anymore or never being funny. etc. It is free on YouTube for some reason or the link hasn't been found yet, so I watched again. It's still hilarious. Just the right amount of cringe. The fembot scene didn't fail to crack me up.
Austin Powers is definitely on the list. Witty, original, and hilarious AF

- Lucky Number Slevin (crime thriller, with terrific cast: Bruce Willis, Josh Hartnett, Stanley Tucci, Lucy Liu, Morgan Freeman, etc)
YES! Excellent movie!

I actually was part of a test audience/screening for Austin Powers before it's general release. I laughed so hard and gave it high marks on the survey sheet.

Some movies off the top of my head:

Snatch
Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
The Gentlemen
The Sixth Sense
Coming To America
Jerry Maguire
The Way Way Back
Layer Cake
Maverick
Somewhere In Time
Kung Fu Hustle
Shaolin Soccer
Keeping The Faith
Grosse Pointe Blank
Sideways

Heat is such a classic. It's perfect that they're doing a sequel-prequel—come to think of it—starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale.

I've probably posted this when the thread first appeared, but for me, I find both Cabaret and All About Eve close to perfection.

The Thing (1982). Last week I watched it for the 3rd time and it was even better watching than the first two times!

Spider Man 1 and 2
Man of steel
Back to the future
Blade runner 2049
Goodfellas
LOTR trilogy
John Wick 2
Matrix
Predator
Terminator 2
Gladiator
Cars 1
Shrek 1
Superbad
21 jump street
Top gun maverick
Wolf of Wall Street

I'm not just being difficult or strange, but I have to mention Superman the movie again. Was at my sister's house for her Birthday last week and we ended up watching Superman, or I did, and Mum. Was funny, she was asking me if Superman goes back to Krypton. No, Mum. Krypton was destroyed at the start of the movie. lol

But yeah, weird, after all these years, it never really hit me that every time I watched Superman as a child, my Mum still hadn't watched it.

''Is that Larry Hagman?'' Yes, Mum, JR Ewing is working with Lex Luthor.

I love rewatching Alien, Predator, The Thing, The Conjuring, Seven, Fight Club, The Matrix, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Silence of the Lambs, Primal Fear, Mr. Brooke, Memento, The Shining, Blade Runner, The Descent, Mulholland Drive, Solaris, Eastern Promises, Oblivion and so on.

The list is basically endless and I haven’t even mentioned all the indie movies that I adore.

Oblivion is a good shout. Great soundtrack from M83.

You know it’s funny that you like all the Piers Bronson Bond films just like me?

I should have mentioned World War Z in my list! Highly underrated.

Mine too but my sister is much more with Craig. I just found Brosnan more subtle and funny whereas I found Craig way too serious.
Didn't like how Bond was portrayed as old and fragile in Skyfall but he was only just getting started really. Should have saved that for later.
Casino Royale is amazing though. Can’t take that away from him.

Yes, agree—Casino Royale was superb. Bond movies used to be fun but with Craig in the lead, it’s gone somewhat downhill since then. I feel it has lost its essence somewhere along the way.

I remember when Wonder Woman came out but me and my sister, we went to see The Mummy and Richie was like, ‘no way!’.

Rich, do you remember that conversation?

The Tom Cruise mummy film? lol
I love Tom Cruise but that movie suuuuucked

Terminator II: Kill Squeaky Voiced John Conner, is a perfect movie.

Aliens: Kill All Humans, is a perfect movie.

The Abyss: Try To Kill Ed Harris, is a perfect movie.

haha I do, yes. I remember that, but don't really remember anything that happened in the movie.

I am probably one of the of the odd ones who absolutely hated Aliens and Terminator 2.

The Abyss was excellent.
