Moving Wimbledon back 1 week

What are your feelings about moving Wimbledon back a week to make a 3 week grass court season? Even more interesting is moving the French forward a few weeks to actually create a shorter clay season and longer grass season.
As a result the Hall of Fame tournament may become much more interesting as a pre-Wimbledon tournament instead of a post wimbledon also ran.
For myself, I like both moves. I think the clay season is too long and I definitly think the grass season is too short. Way too short.

It's a good Idea for the Hall of Fame tournament to be a Wimby warm-up, as they always get a poor field now as a post-Wimby grass wrap-up.

I think the field is surprisingly good given their position. They've had Blake, Rusedski and Ginepre are regulars. This is surprizing to me given it's date. Not only is it a 3rd tier event (so the prize money is small), but it's on grass when all the players want to ramp up for the hard court season.
It has everything going against it yet it still gets decent fields. But it would be MUCH better if were a warm up for Wimbledon rather than where it is. Maybe we'd see Federer there. The only really drawback is it's location. It's a six hour flight from New York to London. But it's not that far from Queen's Club to Wimbledon. Queen's Club is still probably a better pre Wimbledon event.

It seems none of the top 10 players play in that tournament. I watched the SF & the Final and It was boring!!

Yeah, Queens would still be the bigger event. Might be better to move the HoF tournament earlier to make it the start of the grass season; then the players could move on to England for the Wimbledon ramp-up.

I think the same thing. Maybe a 1 week break after the French then off to Newport.

I agree with extending the grass season - I would like to see one masters series tournament on grass. A 3-week gap or, better, 4, would allow that. The better players would probably want a week off after RG, then a warm-up event, then the MS event, then a week off then Wimbledon. Both weeks where the better players would tend to take the week off would schedule 2nd or 3rd tier grass tournies.
