Tomorrow MEGA shows the remaining chileans in action as Paul Capdeville faces Pablo Cuevas at 7 PM and Fernando Gonzalez goes against Juan Mónaco at 10 PM.

I don't like Paul chances after how well Cuevas usually performs in Viña, but nonetheless I still hope he can make that big step and put his name in an ATP semifinal for the first time in his career. On the other hand, I predict Gonzalez going over Mónaco, maybe not easily, but still, it's Viña, and I think Gonzo is playing good enough to beat Pico.

hi, Biggie! :)
i was unable to get anything on the megatv link, as i posted earlier, but i have been able to get the evening matches on channelsurfing.net

i agree w/you about the gonzalez/monaco matchup. i like them both, but based on their AO performances (even tho this is clay), like you i'd be more inclined to guess gonzo.

I like Cuevas because he also plays doubles. To me, thats a complete player.

Wanna bet? LOL. Who will Robredo play next?

I think I'll go play some real tennis now that the temperature is above 40 degrees.
robredo plays Juan ignacio chela or chelini as we call him, and ya i'll bet u that chela wins in straight sets.

Weird score though, 0-6, 6-3, 6-4, I had my money completely on Chela before the second set.

Anyway we're just a few hours left before the TV matches, go Paul and Gonzo!

^^^ 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 that is a wierd score. tommy playing both singles and doubles perhaps a factor? live scoreboard is showing tommy 2-6, 4-3 right now in doubles.

Gonzo still on track here, has the toughest match in quarters. How has he been playing so far?

he was pushed every step of the way by maximo gonzalez no relation from argentina but managed to overcome. the crowd definitely lifts him up when he does something good and go silent when his opponent does. he's up and down, on and off, sparkling and dull. i haven't seen monaco play yet on clay, so it should be interesting! :)

What happened to Monaco? He was #14 this time last year. Yes, 14. And now he is something like 69? Thats quite a slide.

didnt know that -- quite a surprise!

he was doing fine in this tourney, until he met up with the defending champion, fena gonzalez. gonzalez simply overpowered him. monaco kept in there, kept trying, but gonzo's power was just too much for him. frankly, gonzalez seems to be the main man to beat so far.

well he didnt have the opportunities in davis cup, too many good palyers, and i think his mom is from uruguay so he decided to become a uruguay citizen, well that's my theory.

i'm not sure. acasuso won fairly handily, but I havent seen robredo play yet this week, so i'm up in the air on that one. chucho always looks a little to laid back to me, and my impression is that tommy is more intense. tommy could definitely beat jose, that is, if his doubles hasn't taken too much out of him.

match is set to begin 7 pm vina del mar, which is 2 pm pacific time. i'm looking forward to it! :)
