Lotta staff and coaches to pay. After a QF exit Nadal is basically playing for nothing.
Yeah yeah he has tons of endorsements and appearance fees etc. More worried about dissention within his own team if anything.
He's definitely not in 2005 tennis. He knows Murray is the best player in the world now.Wow, this can prove to be the way of a comeback for Nadal. Moya will contribute alot unlike Toni who still lives in the world of 2005 tennis..
Yes, I participated in your thread, and said it seemed a very reasonable addition to Nadal's team indeed. As I said when the RAONIC split happened, yet
As I said when the RAONIC split happened, yet @octobrina10 ridiculed me...
Marca, Dec.17, 2016: "Rafa Nadal incorporates Carlos Moyà into his team" [Google translation]:
http://www.marca.com/tenis/2016/12/17/58553cbb268e3e573f8b45ae.html
RAFA: "I am very excited to announce that Carlos Moya will join my team immediately to work together with Toni Nadal and Francis Roig. To have someone like Carlos, who is not only my good friend but also a very important person in my career, is something special. He will be next to me on my practice and competition. At the same time, he will also join the Rafa Nadal Academy to work together with Toni and the rest of the technical team." [Via translation]

Octo, answer that post pls
What's your question?
I think you said Moya has nothing to add to Rafa
Few months back when people questioned why Moya joined Raonic instead of Rafa, you said Moya was nothing more than a hitting partner. An apology is in order.I have always emphasized that Moya is not a stranger to Rafa. I have always said that Rafa started to practice with Carlos Moya a long time ago, they have been practice partners & good friends for years.
Rafa practiced with Carlos Moya for the first time at the age of 12. C.Moya was a mentor to Rafa in the early stages of the latter's career and they have been good friends ever since.
Am actually surprised with this since everyone thought it would be Rafa. I guess Moya thinks that he can make more money with Milos thinking his 2016 results will be better than his old friend Rafa.
Yet another ex GS winner as a coach. In ten years from now there will almost be none as I doubt any of the big four and Stan will want or need to coach and travel.
Rafa has no intention to hire more coaches (he has 2 coaches)!
Carlos Moya is Rafa's practice partner. Pau Ferragut : "On Monday, Nadal & Moyà practiced together in Manacor [Rafa's hometown]."

Forehand that creates pain again and enough good shots to destroy the opponent, no?Will be interesting to see what he adds as an official coach.
I have always said that C.Moya has been a very important person in Rafa's tennis life already for a long time (18 years).
But you did say Rafa has no intention to hire any more to his coaching team.
I'm pretty sure rafa knows how to do that alreadyMoya might teach Nadal how to flatten that FH
yes...... asap.let's hope this can help nadal finish his career
I agree with this!I like Moya but surely he's been close to him for many many years, not really rocking the boat here.
Rafa will never retire lollet's hope this can help nadal finish his career on a high
Kind of like how you are a one-dimensional troll sock?Moya is a good coach, but even he won't help Nadal, because Rafa is one-dimensional moonballer.
Who has more slams than Djokovic and who achieved career slam 6 years before Djokovic lol.Moya is a good coach, but even he won't help Nadal, because Rafa is one-dimensional moonballer.
LOL, some forum posters are worse than politicians. It's amazing, the egos know no bounds. But you did say Rafa has no intention to hire any more to his coaching team.
HAHAHHA you do not know tennis AT ALL lmfaoMoya is a good coach, but even he won't help Nadal, because Rafa is one-dimensional moonballer.
Djokovic > Nadal, that's all what matters.Who has more slams than Djokovic and who achieved career slam 6 years before Djokovic lol.
at MTOs, ball bouncing and time between points maybe and in BO3.Djokovic > Nadal, that's all what matters.
The stats say soDjokovic > Nadal, that's all what matters.
12 with Djokovic slam > 14, 5 > 0, weeks at #1 and YE#1, masters titles 30-28, H2H 26-23The stats say so![]()
really bad math, valid point, valid point, irrelevant, irrelevant.12 with Djokovic slam > 14, 5 > 0, weeks at #1 and YE#1, masters titles 30-28, H2H 26-23
Just surprised that it has taken so long to happen. Moya and Rafa are both Mallorcans and have known each other since Rafa was a kid! They are close friends. Moya being a part of Rafa's team has always seemed a logical move.
