Moya joins Raonic's team

Am actually surprised with this since everyone thought it would be Rafa. I guess Moya thinks that he can make more money with Milos thinking his 2016 results will be better than his old friend Rafa.

Yet another ex GS winner as a coach. In ten years from now there will almost be none as I doubt any of the big four and Stan will want or need to coach and travel.

Any sources or pics from this? What could Moya bring to Raonic's game? Tactical approach?

Not sure if this is where the OP found it, but it's on Instagram:
A great way to start off the New Year. With a win I'd also like to break some news to #TeamMilos. I'd like to announce the Carlos Moya will be joining the team in Melbourne. As a great champion, competitor and person I think he will be a great mentor/coach to me in achieving my dreams and complementing/joining the team. #2016 #CharlyMoya #TeamMilos #photooftheday #win

I see, let's hope he can improve some things here and there. I'd say movement and tactics.

I remember Carlos Moya as a ground stroker and clay specialist. He did not have a powerful service like Pete Samprass but it was good and fast. Did not due serve and volley! He played doubles. Moya won the FO and runner up at the AO. But maybe he could talk to him on his mental game. He a big guy too sort of a Jim Courier type body.

it is an odd pairing but maybe complementary. getting a huge FH weapon maybe what he is looking for like what Ivan did for Murray. but there is definitely no way raonic gets a set of wheels or increases speed by getting a new coach. he is just too big and unfortunately has foot issues.

good point too moya was a big guy forgot that but its a different body type than raonic's for sure.

Apparently Raonic said in his presser in Abu Dhabi that Moya isn't going to be his full time coach, just an advisor and he'll accompany him to 'most' of the big tournaments.

Rafa has no intention to hire more coaches (he has 2 coaches)!

Carlos Moya is Rafa's practice partner. Pau Ferragut : "On Monday, Nadal & Moyà practiced together in Manacor [Rafa's hometown]."

How many times does Nadal need to tell everyone that he is sticking with Toni and not interested in hiring a new coach? Toni has helped Nadal win 14 slams. What other coach do you know has done that for a player in the history of the sport?

not fire toni but bring on Moya as an additional coach. Toni is basically part time and Wants to ramp up his academy involvement. Roig has an academy that he runs as well

Rafa brought Carlos Moya 'on' a long time ago - he has practiced with Carlos since Rafa was 12 years old.

How is he part time? He's there for most of the important tournaments. He's not part time and still runs the show as far as I can tell.

He and Moya have been particularly close friends for many years now. The fact that they are fellow Majorcans is probably one reason for this!

Toni does the Grand Slams and Roig does the north america hardcourt circuit. And the last couple years we saw Riog at Rome and a couple other clay tournaments as well.
