MS200TT or Prince Neos 1000

I'm still looking at buying a stringing machine. I had pretty much decided on a LaserFibre MS200TT. But, I recently found someone looking to sell a Neos 1000. Sounds like it is 5 years old, and used primarily for personal use.

So, I'm looking for some help. Having never strung before, are there any advantages to one of these machines? Are there things I should be concerned about with a used Neos? Does anyone have an idea where a used Neos should be priced? Should I skip the Neos and stay with the MS200TT?

A 5 yr old Neos that was lightly used should have a lot of life left in it. It would probably sell for $500-600, maybe more. The primary difference here is that the Neos is a crank/lock out machine and is stand mounted. The MS200TT is a table top machine. It's more portable. It's a constant pull drop weight, but doesn't require the arm to be perfectly level to reach the set tension. Some people much prefer to string on a stand mounted machine. Also, there is no easier machine to mount frames on than the Neos and it provides very easy access to the frame all the way around the head. The Neos' glide bar clamp system doesn't provide access to all of the strings on a frame with a fan shaped string pattern, so flying clamps are needed. The machine comes with them too, I believe. Both machines do an excellent job. It's up to you to decide which design you like the best.
