Anybody have much experience with these strings and how they compare to original Focus Hex or how they compare to other standards such as Volkl Cyclone? Thanks!

Since I've recently used both these strings in my VCore 95s, I'll give you my 2 cents.

I got the Focus Hex Soft (17) for free with the purchase of a racket, and tried it strung at 46 lbs. The advertisement that it came it from the dealer, compared the string to Luxilon Alu Power (iirc), according to an italian string site (or something along those lines).

After a couple of hours of hitting it settled in nicely and was very comfortable with good pocketing. In the other racket I had RPM Team 17 at 46 lbs, and that played and felt much firmer. When the Soft broke, I replaced it with Cyclone 18, and that was pretty similar with regards to feel. It's a string I'm considering using as my main string. Other options I'm looking into: Poly Tour Pro and Cyclone (price is a factor).

The Focus Hex Ultra 17, strung also at 46 lbs, felt much firmer than the Soft, perhaps even more so than RPM Team. However, the tension maintenance has been great so far, so this might be a string I would consider if it opends up and feels ok at a lower tension (42 lbs f.inst.).

I only played with focus hex soft 17 full bed on a Head speed touch mp and I really liked it! It's soft for a poly, offers great control, nice power, almost like volkl cyclone tour, good spin production and pretty good life.
The edges worn out on my set up after 2-4 hours in the middle of the frame but the string still performed almost the same.
What I liked the most was the accuracy and good power and very nice slice backhand.

Why did you stop playing with it?

I got a bunch of strings from TW i wanted to try since i did not remember how they would all play...i had a 4 years stop due to injuries.
Hex soft was one of those and i loved it right away as also liked head Lynx edge( good power and penetrating balls, good control, but felt a bit springy and lost a lot of tension after 4-6). Now i just tried Head Lynx and i like it a lot as well. Unfortunately i don't play as much as before so it takes me time.
I liked cyclone tour as well but it lost tension very quick 2-4 hours and the control is not even close to hex soft.
