I've been using a MSV CoFocus with OGSM hybrid but recently tried the MSV Focus Hex Soft - with Forten crosses. This is a softer play in general and plays pretty differently from the CoFocus/OGSM hybrid.
I like them both... but have some questions:
- with the Focus Hex Soft and lower tension - should the Forten also be a lower tension, playing with it I wonder if the Forten should be very close to the Focus Hex Soft in tension - a 3-4lb higher tension seems to be a bit 'off' - as a combination. (I strung the HEx Soft at 51lbs, the Forten at 55lbs). I don't like to go much less in tension due to control issues.
- the the CoFocus/OGSM I string a slightly higher tension - 53/56, the hybrid combo works very well at that tension...
Comparing these two - I have more control with the CoFocus/OGSM hybrid - but once I play a bit with the Focus Hex Soft/Forten Hybrid - it plays very well and I can put more spin on the ball.
Just looking for any thoughts...
