MSV Focus Hex: White vs Black

Played yesterday and had two racquets strung with MSV Focus Hex in my bag. One was strung with white Focus Hex and the other one was strung with the black Focus Hex.

I started with the black MSV Focus Hex. Great string, great feel, great spin, great durability, great tension maintenance. But I lost a big chunk of lead tape from the head of my racquet which was due to improper install.

So, I said it's a god time to compare the black with the white. So the white was completely different. Absolutely different. No resemblance whatsoever. The white Focus Hes should be given a different name.

The white one felt kind of dead. But I will continue testing since I have a reel of white MSV Focus Hex. I will string all my racquets with the white Focus Hex and compare it after using each string for a longer time.

Both white and black were 1.23.

Does anyone have any experience with the black Focus Hex vs white Focus Hex?

-yeah, this was my string of choice a few years back, when shaped polys started to come on the market
-there use to be msv.focus.hex and msv.focus.hex SOFT, both offered in various colors
-the msv focus hex (white), was stiff, and sharp, so the spin was great, but it did not feel as good as the msv.focus.hex.SOFT
-ive reordered several reels of the black SOFT version after, and never looked back into the intial msv.focus.hex

-however, if both the reels you have are either soft or original versions, same??!!, then it could be the color differences,,
-the white color strings, do tend to be deader feeling;

-but I do think you provably got the soft version (black) vs the original version (white)

There is a hex ultra version with the same shape and in white which i found quite dead and durable. It could indeed be a case of wrong labelling?

Well the labels are identical except for the part where the color is mentioned.

I play exclusively focus hex 1.18 black. The red color played similar; the black just seems to play crisper.

already tested black and white. the black is controlled, the edges are sharper. white is a little more comfortable but very good in the game
