MSV strings

Hi guys,

Do you have any experience in those cheap strings? I played a long time ago (once) with Focus Hex +38 black and it was really good. I wonder what are PRACTICAL differences between
Focus Hex +38, Focus Hex +25, Focus Hex Ultra, Focus Hex and also between colors - black, white, red.
The best comparison for me about those strings would be, if you compared them to Hyper G 18 as it is my go-to string at the moment, but the reel is about to end, so I'm thinking about trying some of MSV.

MSV Focus Hex +38 is the softest of the Hex Series. It is 38% softer than the regular Focus Hex. The Focus Hex +25 is 25% softer than Focus Hex, so 13% stiffer than the +38. The Focus Hex Ultra is their stiffest offering. I am not sure of the percentage, but it plays on the stiff end of the spectrum and is very durable. Color differences are very little. Those 3 colors play similarly so no worries there. Perhaps the black is the softest, but it's really hard to discern. Can't speak to Hyper G. MSV strings are definitely quality offerings priced sensibly.

I like Focus Hex 1.18 and 1.23 (played with 1.18 for few years) and did not feel any difference between colors.

Focus Hex is my go-to poly. Great value and feels just as capable as any of the big name polys (disclaimer: I'm a 4.0 rec player and may not have the most finely tuned sense of feel). I've tried a bunch of the higher priced strings and popular strings and they are just not worth the money to me.

Can anyone do a comparison in power, control, comfort, touch, spin capacity and durability, between MSV Focus Hex Plus 25 vs Head Sonic Pro Edge. I was thinking about 1,25mm (17 gauge). Head only exists in antracite color, but the MSV there are 3 options.

Is the Focus Hex Plus 25 softer than the Focus Hex Soft?

Yes - it is regular, Soft, Plus 25 and then Plus 38.
Also a diagram on their webpage which shows the different ones in comparison

I have played them all at one point or another except Ultra. For me Focus Hex and FH Soft played pretty similar. Actually could barely tell them apart. They played firm, but not uncomfortable. Strings rarely bother my arm though, so this will be based on the user. +38 was too soft and powerful and lasted 2 hours for me. I settled on buying a reel of +25, which was a blend of all of them and a good middle ground. Not the greatest durability, but played really nice without being too launchy. I have moved on since I finished the reel, but MSV makes good value strings.

I've played with Hex and Hex Soft but they were both a bit too firm for my elbow in the long run. Swift is okay softness wise so I guess I'll be okay with the +25.

It depends on how hard you tension the string. Normally nothing should happen.
The +25 is already a soft something.
What is your playing strength?
