Mubadala EXO championships, Nadal's return Dec 16th

Very interested to see:

1. Thiem and Nadal’s form/movement in general
2. whether Ruud’s great form picks up where it left off
3. Shapo’s shot tolerance, slice bh, return game, and deuce court second serve
4. whether Murray can be a factor given his physical limitations
5. Rublev’s net game (has he improved?)

It is really annoying that I am not able to find where to watch this online? No carrier in Australia seems to be broadcasting this tournament. I cannot even find any of the streaming services (official or unofficial) that will be showing this. I would really like to see Rafa/Murray/Thiem playing...

Murray v Thiem should be interesting. I'm hoping for Dom to make a return to form, but I also like Murray so won't mind if he catches out Dom at the very beginning of his comeback. Interesting to have the three players on the comeback from injury play each other. Obvs Murray has been back for a while, while Dom and Rafa are just coming back. But Andy's also had the most serious injury. Hard to know what to expect from these matches (even before factoring in that this is an exhibition).

Huh, what do you know? Fresh off the press - nice.. I have Stan sport, so Mubadala sorted, as well as ATP Cup (Sydney, January 1 – 9), Adelaide International (January 2 – 15), Melbourne Summer Events and the Sydney Tennis Classic (January 9 – 15)

"Stan Sport will showcase every match from every court from these pre-tournaments as the world’s best players finalise their preparations for the first Grand Slam of the year."

I guess I am sorted for my tennis in 2022 as, besides the ATP Tennis TV subscription for all the 250, 500 and 1000, Stan Sport covers all slams now.

"Having recently secured rights to the US Open, the Australian Open is the final piece in Stan Sport’s Grand Slam Tennis coverage following the success of Roland Garros and Wimbledon earlier this year. Stan Sport will bring viewers live action from every court across the fourteen days of competition with full match replays, mini matches and extended highlights all available on-demand for all matches."

I'm pleased Eurosport (UK) is covering some of the matches.
Exho not really my thing though.

I'm happier watching the entire doubles tournaments from the US Open and WTFs - thx to Amazon Prime and the ability to add them to My Stuff squirrelled away and watch later - the main listing offerong reduces to a few matches and highlights.

Shapovalov breaks again and wins the opening set 6:3... Getting late here so I will have to watch a replay tomorrow...

Shapovalov was playing great against Fritz. A lot more composure than usually. Great win. 6:3 6:0. He seems to have gotten over his erratic playing style and steadied his shots quite a bit. We might se a surge from him in 2022. Really impressed..

Murray had pretty much disassembled Evans in two sets (6:3 6:2). Evans had some crazy points, returning everything, but Murray was just better.

Bencic vs Jabeur was such a fun match to watch. A bit of a mix of a real war, and a fun exhibition.. Some crazy points too. Dropshots galore. A great win by Jabeur... (6:4 3:6 10:8).
